We want More K2 MK-7
This is a great product! It contains only 100 mcg K2 (Menaquinone-7 [MK-7]), 2 mg Vitamin C, rice flour, the cellulose (capsule), Ascorbyl Palminate and Silica. In other words, nothing bad for you and 100 capsules of MK-7; which is what we bought it for. The MK-7 is taken from Natto (fermented soy), the best natural source for MK-7; and, MK-7 is the most beneficial/best form of K2.It's about time that the nutritional supplement industry and more medical doctors got on board with understanding basic nutrition. Scientific studies (that is, studies using proper scientific method) already show the natural effects of Vitamin K-2 as a key to metabolizing Vitamin D3 (which we normally get from the sun), Calcium, Magnesium, etc. Also, given that with only ten minutes of exposure to the sun, twice a day (about 10AM and 3PM, when the sun is high in the sky and full), the body will use the cholesterol in your body to produce 40,000- D3 a day; however, more sun exposure than that will not produce much more D3. After that first few minutes of exposure, the skin goes into protection mode (which results in tanning) and shortly after that the skin can start to suffer damage. Doctors that are studying these facts say that with 40,000 IU of D3 a day you will never get any form of cancer; they also prescribe 50,000 IU (or more) of D3 a day as a principle treatment for many kinds of cancer; which was my case. I was diagnosed with a melanoma on my ear lobe and was prescribed 50,000 IU D3 a day. Further study indicated that though the optimal level of K2 is about 100 mcg to 1,000 IU D3, if the form of K2 is MK-7 we can reduce our K2 from 5g to 700 mg MK-7. That means I need to take 1 capsule from Bio-Tech D3-50 50,000 Iu with seven capsules of NOW Foods Vitamin K-2 MK-7, 100mcg per day. However, this product is the best we have found and we have not been able to find MK-7 in any greater quantities per capsule for any reasonable price.Given that D3 is the heavy lifter (necessary) that is not only necessary to properly processes Calcium and Magnesium and L-Arginine (the primary source for NO in the body) it seems like the manufacturers and doctors should get up to speed and produce a product with a higher concentration of K2 (MK-7) per capsule. Again, the best thing about this product is it has the K2 (MK-7) without any oil or additives that are not good for the body--we just wish they would put more K2 in each capsule.(By the way, because we commented of the D3 in this response, we should also warn that no one should ever take Calcium as a supplement. Calcium is plentifully available in almost everything you eat. Respectively, a Calcium deficiency is almost never a deficiency in a dietary intake of Calcium; rather, it most often indicates a serious D3 and/or K2 deficiency. Thus, if you increase your D3 and K2 intake but not Calcium or Magnesium, Calcium and Magnesium will naturally increase in your system because your body will have the nutrition necessary for metabolizing the Calcium and Magnesium you already get from your normal diet. Also, be aware that using the levels of K2 noted above will cause the body to use more Vitamin A. Thus, to get a reasonable balance of these three Vitamins we use the following every day: 1 capsule of Bio-Tech D3-50 50,000 Iu; 7 capsules of NOW Foods Vitamin K-2 MK-7, 100mcg and 2 softgels of Solgar Vitamin A 10,000 IU

Reliable NOW Brand, Natural MK-7 Vegetarian Capsule, Easy to Swallow
The product itself seems okay and I'm comfortable purchasing supplements from this company (NOW Foods), based on their reputation.NOW and several other brands use a proprietary, patented formulation called MenaQ7 that says it sources the MK-7 vitamin from naturally sourced MK-7 produced from fermented chickpeas. They also make a similar product that's sourced from soybeans but is "soy free" after it goes through a purification process. They extract the actual K-2 MK-7 vitamin itself from fermented chickpeas or soybeans (depending on the product); but the finished product does not actually contain any of the chickpea or soybean protein or whatever -- just contains the MK-7 vitamin itself that was extracted from the fermentation process. From what I've been able to determine, the proprietary patented MenaQ7 formulation that NOW and many other brands are using to supply the active ingredient vitamin is a natural product -- despite being patented. I'd prefer something that's not patented, because the fact that it has a patent implies that it's not really 100% natural. I spent many hours of frustration trying to research this issue, as the search engines don't necessarily give us easy access to unbiased information. But from what I gather, the patented MenaQ7 formulation assures the supplement companies that the MK-7 they use to manufacture their product contains a reliable dose-strength of the vitamin. Somewhat like getting USP verification to show the product reliably contains a certain strength or guaranteed amount.According to statements made by NOW and also by the company that makes MenaQ7, the MK-7 here is natural, all-trans, the most bioavailable version, and is not synthetic. In the future I may well decide to simply get my K2 directly from real food sources instead of spending money on supplements. And not give the matter any more worry or thought. Organic sauerkraut is said to be a good source of K2. But when I tried to find how much K2 is present in sauerkraut, the search engines gave wildly different results that varied from 2.75 mcg per half cup to 10 mcg per cup to 10 mcg per tablespoon. What a shame we can't get credible information and for sure can't depend on our corrupt FDA or Big Tech search engines for honest credible information. Disgusting. There are other sources of K2 like European hard cheeses made from grass-fed cows, but not the stuff made here in the U.S. from factory-farm dairy cows. The cows need to be pasture raised and grass-fed to produce the vitamin K and they don't produce the same quality nutrients when they're housed in stalls and fed grains like corn. Natural soybean natto may be the best source of K-2, but most people find natto too gross to eat. For now I'm okay with using these bottled, commercially produced NOW MK-7 capsules since I've already bought them.FYI for people who don't like to swallow big pills: these NOW brand MK-7 capsules are small and very easy to swallow. Also: They're made from a vegetable source capsule and are Halal, Kosher, vegetarian and vegan.
