The written information is very good
This book is excellent for its critical writing but the worst I have ever come across for the quality of image reproduction. They honestly may as well not have been included.

Groundbreaking Text
A really useful selection of essays researching several key elements of 'landscape', such as architecture, urban studies, ideology, nature, culture, science, technology, economy and aesthetics, and how these all relate. The authors are all from different disciplines with different interests. The periods of art analysed range from European Romanticism and the pastoral to contemporary urban design and the photograph. The book is designed to incite intellectual debate so not all points are to be taken too literally. It is not a light read but a serious philosophical text so perhaps not the most appropriate text for those looking for an introduction to the subject. Many of these essays are considered key texts in university courses for cultural studies, art history and psychogeography.
