This is about making pasta dough, shortcrust pastry and biscuits, I haven't tried anything else as yet. Up to now I've only used the magimix if I wasn't making dough by hand. I never thought I'd get a stand mixer because of cost and size, but this one is within my range and fits neatly under the cupboards over our counter. It's a revelation. I'm getting lighter, more luxurious doughs, as good as or even better than by hand. Notes: I suggest you ignore the advice in the manual( and online) about how you'll totally brick your dough if you ever run the mixer faster than very slow. It's simply not true — crumb forms smoothly, butter blends in better, and you only need to slow down when adding the liquid (last of all) to let the crumb reform into little pebbles. It looks terribly dry compared to other methods, but pinching between finger and thumb is enough to check if it's ready to roll. It took me a while to get used to the time everything takes, minutes rather than seconds, but the plus is you can leave it to get on by itself while doing other stuff, unlike the food processor. And what a high-class, solid metal, removable bowl. You can weigh all the dry stuff in it beforehand, and once you've finished it rinses clean in a moment. Much easier than cleaning a food processor.

This is a great mixer it looks good and is sturdy and easy to use would definitely recommend. Also very impressed that every single piece of packaging it arrived in was completely recyclable

Overall not bad - nice and light - has strong suctions underneath to tilting is the easiest way to remove from worktop but the only real issue is the speed control. The slow setting is really too fast. Even though it has an anti splash guard, there are some occasions when a nice slow speed is needed and this can't do it. Also, the only way to get good effect for scraping the sides and bottom is to push down on the top while mixing. This way it clears mixture from sides even without touching the bowl itself which is not a problem so some minor adjustments would make this great value for money.

Love this food mixer, stable when in use, good sized metal bowl, bottom of bowl isn't bevelled so ingredients mix well.....quite light & easy to wash. Much quieter than my previous mixer. It's a lovely pale sage green colour. Bought at special offer price on easy payments. Would recommend this mixer.

Such a lovely simple design, but really effective. Bought it after my Mum purchased one and said she found it really helpful. I’ve always had a mixer that has a rotating bowl too, so was wary but honestly love it. Bargain too really when you look at the price and the lid on the top to prevent flour going everywhere is a great addition. In summary, simple, affordable, practical and looks good!

This is a nice neat and very handy mixer. It is great as it has a splash gaurd and you can add ingredients as it mixes through th little opening. It has more than one fitment as well with different settings. Its also easy to store away when not needed. That small hand mixer, you won't need it with this guy. It can mix just about anything from a couple of eggs to a loaf. Great buy. One of my best. Love it.

I really like the look of this mixer but it's useless for cakes I made buns first and thought maybe not enough mixture so I've made 2 cakes now and had to mix by hand after and the hole I the guard isn't big enough to tip ingredients in

Looks good. Lovely colour. Quite sturdy. Multifunction tools. Performs most tasks perfectly well and compared to prices of some pieces of equipment comes out well. If you are a Michelin star chef then don't buy. But if you are like the rest of us this is great value for money!
