I see quite a few low star ratings and negative reviews on this little press. I think that's because many people who are new to reloading are unaware of what it's primary purpose is, and try to use it as a main press. This simple "C" frame press is intended to be more of a companion press. It is, and has always been made in the U.S, and out of cast aluminum. It simply does not withstand the force of resizing brass very well, and will break sooner or later if it's used for that. It was made for simple repetitive tasks like decapping, bullet swaging, bullet seating and crimping, and case bulge removing. The decapping can be done with a universal decapping die so there is no brass sizing going on. It also needs to be mounted to a surface with virtually zero flex. Not to a bench top made from plywood or flat planks of 1x10. The flex will cause the base to break as it redirects the force of the press into the neck where it attaches to the base. Yes it can do all steps if reloading, but it's not designed nor built for it. It's cheap so that you can get one or two of them for tasks that if done on a main press can require extra effort, adjustment, and or clean up. The product description in Lee's catalogs and web site list it's use. Personally, I use it strictly for decapping and it's perfect for that. Decapping is the dirtiest part of reloading and this simple press is VERY easy to clean aftwards and maintain. I expect it will last a lifetime for simple tasks, as long as it's mounted correctly. Yes, it's aluminum, and it's cast, and it's hollow. Infact the whole press weighs a hair over one pound. It's so light it feels like a joke, but it's built to last if used as intended, and maintained. Which means wipe ram and base clean and add a couple of drops of oil after each use. Only takes a couple of seconds.
