Grrat product have been using everywhere just needs mixing up fully before using.

I’ve been working with this powder to create a strong spf homemade sunblock. Be warned that this stuff is MESSY to work with especially if you use a carrier oil as your base and have limited space. This stuff is extremely effective and won’t budge from your skin easily so use sparingly and choose your oils wisely (coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil). I used an equal parts castor oil to coconut oil mix and although it is very hard to budge once rubbed in, it bloody works. From what I’ve found, 2 non-heaped tablespoons per 8 tablespoons of oil of your choice makes for a sunscreen that can be rubbed in fairly well without leaving too much of a white sheet effect. Maybe even 1 1/2 tablespoons as this stuff is strong! If you want a higher spf, however (up to 50), go for around 16 tablespoons carrier oil(s) and 5 heaped tablespoons of the zinc. It IS going to leave a white stain, so I advise this only for those who burn badly or plan on staying outside all day and don’t care much about how stained they look and care more about protecting their skin. This stuff is also waterproof af and you can dip in the water, come out, and still be protected. Do reapply as needed though. Be warned of the following: Messy to make initially I highly suggest you use a metal bowl and a whisk over a sink You’re gonna need some sort of degreaser to clean any utensils used, also white vinegar is very good to cut oil but don’t add this if you choose to use bleach for whatever reason My recipe for 25/30 spf sunscreen: 4 tablespoons castor oil (or any other thinner oil of your choice) 4 tablespoons coconut oil 2 levelled tablespoons non nano zinc oxide (Optional) desired essential oil for a subtle scent, 5-6 drops Fill the sink with hot water first Place bowl in the water making sure none of the water is getting in Whisk the above recipe in the bowl until the zinc is no longer clumpy and is smooth (add essential oil last) You’ll know it’s ready when the zinc is smoothly blended in and the mixture is quite watery due to the heat. If you want to finish off with a more mousse like texture remove the bowl from the hot water once the mixture is totally absorbed into each other and keep whisking - you’ll eventually get a thicker mixture as the bowl cools down. And voila! Add to an empty pot or squeeze bottle and you’ve got a natural solution sunblock that actually works. For a higher spf for those holidaying/vacationing in very hot countries, simply apply the same method as above but using this recipe instead: 8 tablespoons castor oil (or any other thinner oil of your choice) 8 tablespoons coconut oil 5 heaped tablespoons non nano zinc oxide (Optional) desired essential oil for a subtle scent, 10 drops With this mixture you’ll be stained but protected. The stain won’t look that obvious if you’ve pale skin to start with, and if you’ve got darker skin either keep rubbing in or add a little more coconut oil if you wish as it’ll make it less saturated. FYI, to get this out of skin if you’ve rubbed too much in, I suggest gentle body wipes as opposed to trying to wash it off. It’s quite water resistant and I’ve found that wipes work better to get it off the skin. Enjoy

I mix this with either coconut or olive oil and about 20 drop of pure carrot seed oil to create a sun protection oil. Its great because you can increase the sun protection factor by adding more or less of the zinc oxide. So for my forehead, shoulders and forearms I had a 50ml pot of oil with two tablespoons of the zinc oxide. This left a white layer on my skin, I don't mind this and it made me confident I was protected and I could see when it had been washed off in the sea. I was in temperatures averaging 40 degrees for six weeks and didn't get burnt once. I bought olive oil locally and took some zinc oxide and carrot seed oil separately, mixing up small batches as I needed it. The zinc oxide settles at the bottom of the pot so for my legs I used the oil from the top, for more sensitive areas I dug down to the bottom. Many sun-tan lotions contain damaging and toxic chemicals, some of which react with the sun - there is lots of information about this on-line. This offers a safe, cheap and healthy option. You also use less packaging so its better for the environment too. The 500g bag I bought went a long way, I have plenty left to give to friends and use next year.

Usually order from this company, this time, the bags the zinc came in wasn't very strong. I ripped as I was taking it out the box. The bags are also not labelled, when you have 30 different types of white powder for making different products, it's essential that they are labelled correctly, please label the bags next time. I have a mixture of olive oil and very small amount of oil of oregano for oil pulling so when I read that zinc oxide mixed well with olive oil I used this mixture. A very small amount of ZO on a spoon then a couple of drops of the mixture produced more than enough paste to use on my face. Usually ZO is used for sun tan lotion but I wanted to use it to remove some small red patches on my face that had proved resistant to every other treatment tried. I used this three times a day, firstly as a big blob over the red patch and after an hour would rub it into the surrounding skin so I could go out or go to sleep without leaving it all over the bedding. Reduced the size of the redness very quickly and after three days has almost got rid of it completely - can only see it under certain light and with a concentrated attention, so others probably will not see it. I am sure it will disappear with continued use... so worth giving it a go, worst case is that you have some effective suntan lotion for not a lot of money. The olive oil is the type you buy in chemists in the small bottle, the oil or oregano is the Greek type you can buy on amazon, not sure if it is necessary or not but it is a powerful oil that attacks both bacteria and viral infections.

Product came in good packaging and I appreciate the clear part to see how much we have. The zinc oxide powder is great and I'm able to add it to my creams and oils and pair it with hyaluronic cream to make it effective. Would definitely recommend it for people looking to add non-nano zinc oxide into their natural skincare routine

I should have passed this through a sieve! Lumpy sun cream isn’t too hot. I’m sure it will be great when I do this next.

Incluso haciendo mi propia crema solar casera, con mejores calidades y materiales, me sale mas barato que comprarlo, aunque tenga que hacerlo yo mismo. La receta para que sea resistente y proteja del sol: 30% zinc 30% aceite de coco / aceite oliva 25% manteca de karite / gel aloe vera (opcional) 15% de cera de abeja (esto le da la resistencia al agua, yo nado 2 horas y cuando salgo aun se ve que tengo la crema) Solo por saber que ganas en salud y en tu bolsillo, ya merece la pena perder 30 minutos para hacerlo.
