Excellent basic recipes
As a somewhat 'evolved student' (meaning I've moved on from super noodles butties and ready meals and begun to cook basic meals. This is a nice step up from the real basics, there's a few recipes I use weekly from this book.Highly recommend!

Cooking made easy - literally!
Have bought this item twice once for my son in law so that he could learn how to cook some meals for my daughter to share in the chores of cooking. Ideal and very easy simple steps to follow with pictures to make it look really easy. This made me buy a second copy as a house warming gift for a friend of my daughter who asked me where I got it from as she said it was so easy to follow and would be useful for her friend who was not a brilliant cook!

Student cookbook reveiw
I bought this for my daughter after she'd seen her friends copy who's already at university use it and reccomended it. She's tried out some of the recipes on us recently and so far the results have been pretty good! The book has succeeded in generating an interest in food that wasn't there before dispite my best efforts over the past few years. I'm am no longer afraid that she is going to exist only on pasta and cheese!

This book ticks all the boxes. Easy to follow with plenty of photos, a full spread of recipes and the holy grail of cookbooks - all the recipes work! Basic techniques are covered as well as more complex options for the adventurous. And being aimed at students booze is covered. The book's hidden secret is that it is not just for students - anyone can make good use of this one.

A must-have cookbook
One of the best cookbooks I have read. Recipes are so easy to follow and the photos are mouthwatering. Highly recommended for anyone - students, singletons, couples, workers, parents, elderly people. If you only have one cookbook on your shelf, make it this one.

Shocking sexist stereotyping
Bought this for my student son after reading very positive reviews on Amazon. It's a true shocker containing sexist claptrap that had my son, his sisters and girlfriend howling with outrage. Chapter 4 is entitled 'Healthy Days for the Girls' and includes recipes for low-calorie vegetable soup and crudités to tuck into while 'we sit on the floor and gossip.' Meanwhile by Chapter 5, 'Boys are back in Town' and there's a recommendation for burgers and steak sandwiches to soak up the hangovers caused by tequila shots the night before. 'So girls,' the author asks, 'what do we like? The same stuff as boys now and again but soups and salads are great for lunch too.'What kind of message is that giving ? Just dreadful

Essential Cookbook
Great little cookbook. I bought this when I became single & wanted to learn how to cook more. There's plenty of good quality pictures & its all laid out in an easy-to-follow way. This book has inspired me to move on to more complicated recipes but I still refer to it regularly & have just bought another copy for my daughter who is off to drama school in September!
