This strainer fit my top fin although I replaced the filter itself way too noisy

I needed a replacement piece for my Fluval intake pipe. This one cost way less and does the same thing as my original intake. I keep a sponge on mine but this one is under the sponge. I would say it won't allow anything to get into the intake but since I have some shrimp, I like to use the sponge as well.Great quality and correct in sizing.

I like that my RES cannot bite & break it! I don't like how quickly it clogs up. The holes are very small and if they are not totally clear, the water barely flows (fresh after a filter cleaning). I'm still on the hunt for a fluval intake stem replacement because their brand parts aren't made the same as they used to be. My turtle is attracted, or maybe bothered, by the gray/black color and immediately gets fixated on biting it until the pieces break off. Over the last few years since the color was changed @ manufacturing, I've replaced this fluval part more than a dozen times. I would recommend if you're OK with having to constantly monitor the passage of water flow for debri blockage.

I ended up going with corse sponge to go over the original Fluval intake for the 207. This slowed my canister filter way down, to the point I was thinking it could be causing unnecessary stress on the motor. It was a perfect fit. I will give it credit for that.

Wanted to use something to keep the smaller fish from getting sucked into the filter. Easy to install.

I kept breaking the Fluval intake strainer for my 207 when I would try to take them apart to clean them. This one has smaller holes so my shrimp don’t get up into the filter and it looks small enough that the invader mini ramshorn shouldn’t be able to either.
