Review: Great read! - Emotional, romantic story that keeps you glued to its pages till the end.Simple plot but entertaining, narrating floating easily across the lines, magical atmosphere created by the author that gives life to vivid imagination and wide open eyes dreaming. Can wait to continue with the next book on this series hopefully about Hasin ! Review: Mistaken Identity... - Shiekh Ilyas al-Razim has had tough childhood, which means he doesn't trust easily. Maggie Delaney also had a tough childhood, but still has an innocent naivety. A case of mistaken identity where Maggie gets whisked into the desert for daring to blackmail the future King of Zayrinia. When truths are revealed, will they be able to trust each other enough not to let the past overshadow their present? You'll have to read on to find out. A very good romance, where you will be pulled into the desert heat and still left wanting more. This book was received free from NetGalley via Mills and Boon Insiders, but that does not in any way influence my opinions.

Mistaken kidnapping
Book One in the Ruthless Royal Sheikhs Series centres around the oldest al-Razim brother, Ilyas. From birth, Ilyas has been raised to one day be ruler of Zayrinia so his main focus is his duty to his people and country. When a blackmailer threatens to release a video of Ilyasโs brother, Hazin, with a woman in a green bikini. Ilyas has the blackmailer โSuzanneโ found and taken to his desert retreat. Only it isnโt Suzanne but her unwitting friend Maggie that is whisked away. Maggie has been travelling for a year and is at her final destination before her return home. After having an party where she was ill, she takes Suzanneโs place at a stargazing trip where she is kidnapped and taken to a royal tent. The mistake is soon realised but the pair are stuck in the tent due to the sandstorm. A beautifully descriptive book which really bought to life the country of Zayrinia. I loved how the history and folktales describe at the stargazing trip are woven into the narrative detail such as the scene with Maggie in the Hamman. There is also a significant introduction to Hazin and Florence with a few lines to suggest that something has happened between them, which leads nicely in to the next book. The only thing I wasnโt keen on was that most of the book takes part over a day or two.

Lovely
A very enjoyable book. Strong characters, a bit of drama, loads of romance with a happy ending, beautiful descriptions of the desert. A lovely fairy tale really to read on a cold winter evening.

like I am then you are going to love this ...
If your a fan of Carol's books, like I am then you are going to love this book. I mean who doesn't love a sheikh, for me its the robes and imagining what his body looks like under them (sigh). Sorry about that my mind wonder off. Both as you can gather Ilyas and Maggie come from different worlds, Ilyas is the son and heir of the king and Maggie from the age of seven has been in foster care. Even though Ilyas was brought up with all the riches in the world his childhood wasn't a happy one, he was taught from a young age, that he would be king, and it became even difficult when his brother Hazin was born, because they weren't brought up as brothers, but mainly as strangers. From what I read about Ilyas parents, I found them to be cold towards their sons and never encouraged them to play together or have a close bond like brothers should. Now Maggie did have a lovely childhood and was loved by her mother, but that all changed when Maggie was seven and she had to be put into foster care. But her mother did leave her some money, which Maggie received when she was twenty-one and she was told in a letter to go and see the world. As I was reading about Maggie, I found her to be strong and yes she was cynical and she came across as defensive, but you would be having spent so much time in foster care. From here I won't reveal to much, but lets just say from Maggie meeting Hazin, in what I will call a rather unfortunate circumstance, Ilyas then takes it upon himself to kidnap Maggie. Please don't fooled into thinking that Ilyas, doesn't have a heart because he does, and he makes Maggie realise that there are people who care for her a lot. So for me I will give this book 4/5 stars. The book is on pre-order at Amazon.co.uk and is released on 1st December. I received this book from Netgalley, for the Mills and Boon Insiders. In return for a honest review.

Engaging romance
Engaging from the start, I really enjoyed this book. It was a bit different and themes of family loss and breakdown were dealt with well. Sheikh Ilyas al-Razim, ruler of beautiful Zayrinia, was a force to be reckoned with as he was determined to show seasonal worker Maggie who was boss. Tricked into nearly causing a scandal, Maggie is stunned when she is kidnapped by Ilyas and accused of all sorts of misdemeanours However Ilyas hadn't reckoned being attracted to enigmatic Maggie and struggles to let her go when he realises she is innocent. Maggie was an interesting character, just managing to survive and have a stable life because of her uprooted past, she is swept away by her feeling towards Ilyas and their doomed love affair. Brilliantly written and well worth reading.
