This seems to fail every 3-4 years. I was afraid I was going to have to replace the fridge because the bottom of the freezer wasn't keeping things frozen. The fridge part was warm.This fan circulates the air, and is located in the freezer. Replacing it is annoying, but doable. Cheaper than replacing the fridge.

Loud noise when after cooling down to freezer temperature
The motor was very quiet after installation when my refrigerator was still warm at room temperature. But it made very loud whining noise at freezer temperature (noise started when temperature below 10F). I thought I got a bad unit so I ordered a replacement. The same thing happened to the replacement unit. I gave up and returned both units.
