Alnico III magnets. Excellent pickups

knowing that they're single coils, how quiet are they with overdrive or slight distortion? or better I get a humbucker?

They're obviously not going to be as quiet as humbuckers, but they're definitely among the quieter single coils I've used. If you get in the habit of rolling your guitar volume off when you aren't playing you'll be fine. They're great pickups.

What size potentiometers works best for the tonerider trt2?

250k is what you use for single coil pickups. I have put in many of the Tonerider Pups. Always 250k Pots.
