High quality images and good performance, Excellent customer service and value for money.
TC06 2023 version: Two cameras in one : a high resolution 60Mpixel colour camera(up to 4k) and a respectable 8Mpixel monochrome/Infrared camera (up to 1080p). When there is sufficient light the camera switches automatically to the colour imager, giving clear photo quality images in daylight, and a grainier, less colourful 'Starlight' image in very dim light, i.e. dawn or dusk conditions. In darkness the infrared illumination can also be set to Low, High or Auto, and gives good clear illumination. Two dim red glowing dots can be seen by human eye when the camera is recording in darkness, but the animals do not seem aware of them. Image files are stored as .jpg and video as .mp4. A SD class 10 memory card (not supplied) is required for image storage. Images can be transferred on the card, or via USB2.0 connector, or downloaded onto a phone via wireless and a phone app.A 2.4 in colour monitor screen inside the camera case also allows preview, selection and deletion of images, and access to the control menus is from the control panel inside the case, or remotely via the Wildlife Cam app on phone. Settings for image resolution and video format options are available, also numbers of images/duration of recording, active and inactive periods, detection sensitivity and infrared illumination intensity.Wireless range is limited by the characteristics of Bluetooth and Wifi, both of which must be enabled in order to connect with the phone-based app. Although connection with a mobile phone is possible over distances of around 10-12 metres I find that in my installation a good connection is only reliably obtained within about 5 metre range, and rapid download of images (e.g. about 20 seconds for a 25 second 1080p video recording) is only achieved within 2-3 metres. This may be due to interference from several neighboring 2.4GHz wifi routers, including my own. The camera does seem to vary the wifi channel used, but does not appear to adapt to the presence of other signals on the same or adjacent channels.I find the image quality very good. The field of view is not defined in the manual, but might be described as 'wide-angle', giving a good field of view with some barrel distortion near the edges. the camera is fixed focus, giving sharp (daytime) images from 1 metre to infinity. I have used the camera mostly for night time video work, and have obtained clear detailed video of small mammals at 1 to 5 metres range. The PIR detection sensitivity is excellent, and can be set low/medium/high. There is one sensor directed forward, and two directed to the sides, which can optionally be disabled in the settings menu. In the position I mounted the camera I find that a human target will trigger the camera at 8 metres or more, a small bird or mouse within 3 metres, and a bumblebee at around 1 metre.Time-lapse mode produces interesting results for subjects like mushrooms growing, flowers opening. The camera has to be set to store single frame images, and these appear as as individual files which need to be converted on computer e.g. from .jpg to .mp4 video format. When recording time-lapse in natural light the colour camera automatically cuts in at dawn, in place of the mono camera a couple of centimetres to its side, or vice-versa at dusk, seen as a sudden switch from monochrome night/infrared to colour 'Starlight' and then full colour daytime, accompanied by a jump in perspective. I can't find a way around this, other than filming in continuous and/or artificial light, or in continuous darkness with infrared LED illumination enabled..The camera withstood all weathers of a British autumn and winter outdoors without damage or any observable water ingress. Water droplets and condensation on the lens occasionally blurred the images. It is best to mount the camera high and pointing at a downward angle, to minimise this. Mounting on a tree branch that sways significantly in wind caused many false triggering events, so a rigid support is recommended. A long fabric strap with plastic buckle, and a metal swivel mount, are supplied with the camera.I get 2 to 4 weeks' use form a set of 8 alkaline batteries, recording night time only, average 5 x 25 second video per night. Although other users report successful use of rechargeable batteries, the camera instructions state 'do not use rechargeable batteries'. (NiMH batteries deliver lower voltage than alkaline single use ones, so the camera stops, indicating 'battery low' when only partially discharged.)Altogether this is a very effective camera for monitoring wildlife, and great value for money, offering more features and flexibilty than others in the same price range. Customer service was helpful and responded quickly, within 24 hours. to email requests for assistance.

Great product
Expensive but quality videos and pictures, battery time isn't the best but as a outside power socket for solar power, comparing with others I have less expensive the extra paid for me is worth it, would I recommend depends how much it would be used.

Excellent quality!
Excellent camera.Have been debating buying a wildlife camera for a while, we have an large rear garden, the majority is just left to nature so was always intrigued into what kind of wildlife was hidden within it.Attached the camera with the strap that came with it to an ideally placed tree and left it for a couple days. The quality of video and pictures is outstanding. Better than I expected and it was amazing to see a variety of wildlife.I put it in a local wooded area for 1 night. I was hesitant but when I put it up I had a friend have a look and they didn't notice it properly until I pointed it out so does camouflage really well.Easy to use, feels strong and sturdy and quality of the images is good.Overall a great product. My advice would be to buy some really good, rechargeable batteries for it and a large memory card.

Build quality looks quite good
I bought this nature cam to replace my 8 year old Bushnell HD Trail cam which still works well in daylight but night shots are very poor due to 18 of the 36 No glow IR LEDs not working.Initially I installed 8 X 1.5 volt Lithium rechargeable batteries and the camera came to life and I was able to enter the Menu and setup the date and time etc. I did not bother setting up the Bluetooth or Wifi at this point. I switched to the record mode and took a couple of videos indoors. These worked OK although I noticed that verticals such as door frames were bowed rather that straight, something the Bushmell does not suffer with, but then it was two and a half times more expensive.I put the camera out in the garden and left it overnight. When it was dark I walked in front of the camera to ensure that the night vision video would be activated. Next morning I brought the camera indoors and turned it off, strangely I there was no indication that I had turned it off which normally would have been the case so I turned it on again and nothing happened. I checked that all the batteries were still installed correctly. Suddenly it came to life after about 10 minutes for no apparent reason other than it had warmed up to room temperature and all seemed to be ok; however nothing had been recorded on the SD card. I decided to replace the Lithium batteries with some alkaline batteries and also replaced the SD card, checked that it recorded on the card indoors and placed in the garden again, walking in front of it a couple of times to make sure it would trigger. When I brought it in again I had exactly the same problem of no battery power although the batteries were new and not discharged. Again after a few minutes it started working correctly. I tried the same procedure a couple of more times with the same result. When the camera was outside there was never anything recorded on the SD card. I can only assume that there is an issue with the battery connections or there is a sensor in the camera that powers the camera down when the temperature is low which is triggering at too high a temperature. The night-time temperature was no lower the 9 degrees centigrade and daytime 12 degrees or above. There is obviously a fault with this unit and it has been sent back and a refund issued. I am now in a quandary as to whether or not I should order a new one in the hope this was an isolated fault or look elsewhere. One thing I notice is that the description on Amazon states that an SD card up to 256 Gb can be used but the Manual states up to 128 Gb.The build quality of the unit seems quite good and the specification I would have hoped would allow at least 4 star rating but due to the fault I can only rate it as 1 star.A few days after writing this review I was contacted by the company apologising for the faulty camera and offering me a £20 Amazon gift card for my inconvenience, however this was conditional on my deleting this review. I am not prepared to delete the review as it is a true reflection of my experience, so I don’t expect I will receive the gift card now. I think the practice of offering gift cards in order to remove poor reviews is wrong and hope Amazon will take the company to task.

Excellent quality camera
The media could not be loaded. This is the best trail camera I have purchased by far. The quality of video is outstanding. No infrared glare like other cameras. Very fast trigger time and easy to set up and use. If you are buying it just for the "Starlight" night vision capability, I think you'll be disappointed. I can't see any real advantage to this feature as the results aren't great. Having said that, if you forget the "Starlight" gimmick, you will still be left with very high quality daytime and night vision videos.
