Titan vs. Titan
With Eren's abilities revealed his fate is uncertain with some within the government and military wanting him executed. The Scout Regiment meanwhile see Eren's potential as a weapon for humanity's survival and they have a proposal that will see him put to good use. Eren however still has to a lot to learn about his abilities and he soon has to deal with the fact that he isn't the only one of his kind. This second volume of the 'Attack on Titan' anime contains the final eleven episodes of this brilliant series across two discs. The episodes in this volume are action packed with some very good battles and a lot of gore. The first three episodes presented here deal with the decision about what to do with Eren and his time getting to know the Scout Regiment in general and Captain Levi's Special Operations Squad in particular. The remaining nine episodes see Eran's first mission and the emergence of a new threat that is more dangerous than the Titans. All of these episodes are very good and compulsive viewing with some nice trists to the plot (even if some are a little predictable) with the episodes dealing with the 57th Exterior Scouting Mission (episodes 17 to 22) easily being the highlight of the series as a whole (although the fight in the season finale is almost as good). The animation of the series remains great and I am even getting use to the thick outlines that are used in places. The English dub remains mostly very good (the original Japanese is included as well of course) with Jessica Calvello giving a particularly good performance as Zoë Hange. I am still not a fan of Bryce Papenbrook as Eren as I feel he didn't pull of his rage voice very well. The volume has a number of special features including the US Trailer, cast commentaries and a piece on 'Attack on Titan' at the Anime Expo. The volume also includes days 14 to 25 of the 'Chibi Theatre' Specials that are only subbed. Unfortunately the volume doesn't include the three OVAs that are currently out.Overall this was a brilliant series and is one that any anime fan would love. This second volume of 'Attack on Titan', and the series in general, are both easily worth a full five stars.

The fight for survival continues
The battle against the titans continues in this second part of attack on titan. Betrayal, honour and grief are the running themes in these episodes. With each faction fighting for their own cause and trying to protect their intrests is no longer about the survival of humanity but who's going to come out on top with all the power. The survey Corp want to know the truth and so does Eren. The plot twists and turns. The action sequences in attack on titan are second to none. It pulls no punches in its pure brutality and shows a fight for survival for what it really is, an adrenaline filled desperation to keep going even if it's just for a few more moments. The animation is stunning and detail in the background and thought for the whole setting really shows. As with the previous dvd set the sound quality is right up there. There is also the option of Japanese dub with English subtitles which I personally prefer so I'm glad that option is here again.I'm really looking forward to series two and this is a great addition to my anime collection.

Epic Anime, Poor Delivery
This is more so do with the Delivery issues I've had than the anime itself. Anyone into Anime I would urge them to watch this if they haven't! I'm not a big anime guy but I think Attack on Titan is a great Anime series! Be sure to check it out! However I can't say the purchase was an easy one. I've had this pre-ordered for about a month or so now on First Class delivery. It came a day late and not to mention the bracket was cracked. In result my Disc 1 was moving around but still in its divider and still runs currently (I have yet to actually sit down and watch it, just tested to ensure it is functional) and sadly piercing the spine of the case and my cover. Not too pleased as I prefer a neat collection of media! In result I sent an email requesting a refund for the post charge and in which was successful. It should cover a new case however I'm somewhat disappointed in Amazon for this late delivery and the damaged goods. I hope this will be the only time!

Okay.
The four stars aren't for the series, which I would rate a solid 5.The four stars are for the product itself.Since I'm not a fan of the dub(which is due to me watching the sub first and growing used to it, plus that horrendous titan screech in the dub, ugh), I quickly switched to the sub when I put the disc in. All was going well, until I saw a few typos. That's right, typos in an official dvd release. I could look past that though, but what really bothered me was that this sub release (which was apparently subbed by funimation) used words only the dubbed characters would say.Levi in Japanese calls them brats. In the subbed version on this disc, which is also what he says in the dub, is kiddos. And I hated that. I watched it all anyway because I love the show, but it still bothers me.Awesome anime, somewhat alright dvd release.

Still needed work
There is some world building and story development, but the weak character development and any idea of the reason for the titan attacks is still lacking. This picks up from the moment the previous season ended. With the same animation style, less superbly polished than other series but still good, the streets seem worn, the buildings dilapidated and late Tudor period looking it passes the time. Mikasa is probably one of the show's strengths, reigning in Eren's idiocy whilst being a strong female character who doesn't rely on male support to make up for some catastrophic character flaw. All in all it's OK. It doesn't rely on pointless fanservice and if you like mecha horror you're in good hands. It will do to pass an afternoon, but the over sized cast and too little character development still stops me caring that much about what happens to any of them.
