I got these for varnishing, in this instance our bannister that I had sanded back. I have historically used a very fine varnishing brush, which has always worked. I had been advised that these foam brushes make varnishing a breeze and have to say this turned out to be true. I did not re-use them for each coat, using a new foam brush each time. Very happy and plan to continue using these for future projects.I can also confirm none of those I used broke up or left any foam deposits, they worked perfect each time.

These are great little foam brushes and are ideal for applying stains and varnishes to tight corners. Great for crafting too and the kids love using them.

These little foam 'brushes' are very handy for painting, cleaning, crafting etc. I like the fact that they have wooden, rather than plastic, handles. The foam does wash out without too much trouble, but although I like the wooden handles I think they might hold water for too long if you get them wet. I tend to use these mainly for acrylic painting and for gluing. Having a set of 24 is great as you don't have to fret too much if your medium dries on them and you have to bin one or two. They are only 1inch (2.5cm) wide so wouldn't be practical for large area coverage, but are great for fiddly bits and crafting. The foam ends seem to be fairly well stuck to the handles and I haven't had any of them fall off - always a bonus. Although £8 (at the time of review) might sound a bit pricey, you do get 24 of the 'brushes' so they work out at less than 34p each - a bargain. So I am overall happy to recommend them.

The foam is firmly attached, just be careful the corners of the plastic base that holds the foam has sharp corners (I found out when washing) my toddler uses them fine and loves to paint the shower walls with them!

This is a really handy set of 24 foam paintbrushes that are really useful for lots of pain jobs.My daughter has taken a particular interest in them for her little art projects but as there are so many in the pack there's plenty to go around.The wooden handles are easy to grip and the foam is easy to clean after a painting session. The shape of the foam is a kind of paintbrush shape which makes more intricate jobs much easier.£8.00 for a box of 24 is a great price, I would definitely recommend them.

Although these were in the diy Section, I think these are more suited to crafts than diy.They are good quality and my WI group and Crafting Group will find many uses for these.I used to buy these when I was a teacher to use in my classroom, anywhere I saw them on special offer. It is so long since I bought any I can't really comment on the cost of them.If you do craft, I will give you a helpful tip, if you add a little washing up liquid to the paint, the paint will wash out of the foam bit so much more easily. Of course, it depends what you are using the paint for and what you are painting. But if it is just for pictures, use with children this is so much easier.
