Can I buy a replacement sleeve to fit a 7/8" rail? Lost it.

Yes, magma sells as parts. But magma suport sucks, i’ve made a custom one on a machinery shop, much more stable

Do you always use the plastic piece? I have a 1" rail do I use the plastic piece?

No, the plastic rail adapter is not required for use on 1" diameter railings. It is an adapter that is only used when connecting to a smaller 7/8" diameter railing.
