Q: Can I use this to spatter-paint a silk dress?

Well, it is not a paint. It is due and whatever you put it on will need washing after to take out the excess or it will leak dye all over everything you touch with it. Having done fabric dying and paint for a long time to get a really good result that stays on I would look in here for fabric paint. I have used this dye in the washing machine successfully for not straightforward and the dye.

Q: Can this be used on polyester?

Just watch I used it and it made my trainers turn black I ended up having to use Dylon dye stripper after I used it
