More than happy!
Being a console gamer all my life this was a massive step for me. I spend a lot of time on different gaming forum's, and of late, the constant bickering over which consoles are best has really irritated me. So I decided to jump into pc gaming. This card has blown my mind. I decide to dive in and build my own pc, I'm so glad I made this decision! This card is amazing to say the least, everything upto now I've played has been 1080p on ultra and 60fps (I play on a big tv and the tv can only manage 60fps). I try Mad Max to see what the fps was, it went up to around 120-130fps but the screen tearing because of my TV was bad. So on a good monitor this msi card would be awesome. The card is also silent. Because the fans only spin when the card is being pushed hard, you never hear it. I'll be amazed if it ever has to use the fans for me tbh, 1080p at 60fps is nothing for this beast. I'd highly recommend this msi Gtx 980, I know it's not cheap, especially if like me your taking your first steps into pc gaming, but it's money well spent when you see for the first time what it's capable of.

Great Upgrade For Gamers.
I spent a lot of money on a PC back in January 2012, including an i7 Quad Core Intel chip and 16GB of RAM. By now the graphics had fallen behind so I decided to spend some money to replace one of my twin Nvidia GTX 570 Ti cards with this. The 980 is about twice the length of the old card and more than twice the weight. Unlike other cards I’ve ever handled this feels like a well constructed substantial component. Beautifully presented and run through with copper ventilation pipes. Two fans. Installation presented no issues except I had a struggle squirrelling away the internal cables of other components. Started up OK. Installation of the software went smoothly and I was able to make adjustments using my already installed Nvidia control panel. The effect on the main game I play has been profound. I play the online game “World of Tanks” and I’d had it set with a lot of features such as water and foliage quality set to low. I was just able to get 50PS. Now with the 980 running I’ve got 100 FPX and everything maxed out. Game looks excellent and I’m delighted. Based on the monitors I run I’m not even pushing this card. The second fan hasn’t even started yet. I anticipate that it will last me a fair few years. Given that this one component actually costs more than some PCs the £400 might seem a lot. But I think it was worth every penny.

Good card. Works well with all modern games, and no doubt it will continue to perform into the future. Solid build, though I do suffer from some sag inside the case. Other than that, solid 4 stars.

Max everything out, and just enjoy!
There seem to be a lot of uninformed reviews on this site for the MSI GTX980 Gaming OC card. I bought one of these to replace GTX760 Gaming OC card (4gb) to work with a new 4K 28" monitor. The GTX760 was struggling with 4k and running at about 30fps on ultra settings with games like WoT. However, this card comfortably runs all games at a min of 60fps ( the monitor only goes to 60hz anyway ) in ultra settings at 4K. Remember to turn anti-aliasing off, you don't need it at 4k resolutions. It is whisper quiet and runs at a very low temp. If required you can easily over clock it, with the supplied software, even more than it does out of the box. Not sure why Amazon have suspended sales, the one I got (delivered, late, on 29th Dec 14 - ordered with Amazon prime but took 3 days ) was exactly as I expected it to be. Don't believe reviews from those that have never used this card or have set it up wrong, or don't have a decent processor. This thing is beyond awesome and will run everything you want at the graphic settings you want.

I went for the bizlink DisplayPort to DVI-D Dual adapter which works great.
Replaced my GTX680s running in SLI with two of these cards and the increase in performance is astounding. Hitting over 100 FPS in Titanfall running maxed out at 5760*1080, with Battlefield 4 not far behind. Runs cooler and quieter than my 680s did and they ran at stock while this comes overclocked out of the box. Something to be aware of though is that these cards only come with a single DVI output so if you want to run a triple monitor set up at 120hz you'll need to ensure that either your monitors have a Display port input or that you get yourself a DisplayPort to DVI-D Dual adapter. I went for the bizlink DisplayPort to DVI-D Dual adapter which works great.

Not quite enough for the top of the range
It's capable of 3840 * 2160 @ 60 Hz :) @ 3840 * 2160 Doom 3 looses it on entry to the Mars basement, I presume that's the beginning, otherwise it all looks like intro to me. Civ V seemed fine, but exited to a half dead screen, which needed a reboot. IL*2 Ultimaste edition at 1920 * 1200 had no problems, I may try it at full resolution one day, if I can be bothered, it used to give me a black screen at full res with the old card, but played and plays okay as things are. There were little plastic plugs in all the sockets (DP, HDMI) which were a significant pain to remove, expect to lose some skin to these, probably no blood (I didn't and I'm susceptible). Sum total: It's better than a Radeon HD 6970, but not quite by enough to justify scrapping one that's more or less working, unless you are rolling in money. <edit 16th November 2014> This system ( MSI NVIDIA GTX 980 Gaming Graphics Card (4GB, PCI Express, 256 Bit) , Asus PB287Q 28 inch Widescreen Ultra HD 4K LED Monitor (100M:1, 300 cd/m2, 3840 x 2160, 1ms, DP/HDMI/MHL) , and ASRock Z77 Pro3 Motherboard (Socket 1155, Intel Z77, DDR3, S-ATA 600, ATX) ) is definitely not 100% right. I get occasional boots to a completely black screen, which I sometimes did previously. So far I've not had a boot into a lower resolution, and that is a big improvement. I have sometimes had half the screen go wierd, and the other half fine, which I had sometimes before, before sometimes even in lower resolutions. Doom 3 runs @ 1920 * 1200, but not at full resolution. If the full resolution of 3840 * 2160 didn't work fine most of the time, that would be different, but as it is, it's okay, it's just not good enough for anyone other than we early adopters yet. I don't know whether the fault is with the graphics card, the monitor or my motherboard, but since the issues sometimes start well before Windows has booted, I'm pretty sure it's not a driver issue. <edit 16.3.2015> The driver update did something, I'm pretty sure. I can't say that overall there's been an improvement, there seems to be a bit more inistability when running than there used to be, but it does seem to be booting more successfully. I still don't know whether it's the card, the monitor, the PSU or something else that's the problem. If you need UHD, then a card of this calibre is about the minimum if you want to play graphically intense games, and you'd probably be better with two or more cards even so. UHD is very nice to look at, and I do recommend it, but at the moment, for me, it's not trouble free, it's better enough to be worth the troubles, but it would be better yet without them. 27.7.2015: I'm convincecd at this point that the problem is in the monitor. This grapics card is good enough for Skyrim at 2560 * 1440 (at 3840 * 2160 I get a bogus "Level up" message in the about the middle of the lower right of the screen, which is a big enough turn off for me that I dropped a resolution, still enjoyable and looks good, just not as good as it could be, I personally suspect this is Skyrin's fault), Halflife 2 at 3840 * 2160, Doom3 at 3840 *2160, Deus Ex Human Revolution at 3840 * 2160, for anything more advanced than these, I haven't tried, I couldn't say.

Can't really tell any good for this card since I recieved faulty one. Had terrible ingame stutters and texture flickering to the point of being unplayable

Best card i've owned.
Not really sure where to start, performance-wise its incredible. I play at 1440p and this thing rarely goes below 60 fps. Overclocked results can sometimes be tied with the reference nvidia 980ti on scores. I have a small overclock on it just now to raise my minimum fps a little, but really no need. Stay cool, never gets over 72C even with an overclock. Stay very quiet also, I've NEVER heard this thing operate. Its great for just web browsing too as the fans do not run until the card hits 60C. so it will not make a noise. I've also not heard one bit of coil whine either. Excellent card all round.

Consigliatissima!

Good graphics card.
Good graphics card. Delivered on time. Note that it requires two cables with 8 pin connectors for power supply. The box contains only one, 8 pin cable.
