Carrera First Mario Kart - Slot Car Race Track with Spinners - Includes 2 Cars: Mario and Peach - Battery-Powered Beginner Racing Set for Kids Ages 3 Years and Up

For the price, this car racing set does the job; my 4 year old daughter was delighted. But a couple things I discovered that would have made me re-think my purchase had I known beforehand: 1. I was surprised at the fact the cars don't really coast along the track. They're either in acceleration or at a full stop. 2. The tracks are very unequal; of the two tracks in our set, one holds the car really well and you can zoom around no problem. The other track barely holds the car at all, it takes off flying quite easily. This wouldn't be a problem if they were both the same; as it is, everyone fights over the same track. The racing isn't really fair. 3. There isn't a convenient way to store this when not in use.

Wow, it's about the box art, the cars, the track color, it's all there. Except for the way they make you cut out the cardboard box to act as turning things you ride past, and they spin. And the quality was terrible. Seems like such a waste to not only have to cut out bad quality material as part of the toy, but to have to cut out the whole box art to place on the track is ludicrous and it immediately destroys the cool box. Seems such a waste. I had to return it due to the track no longer working after less then a week. I think I maybe got a dud? But either way, I would not order again due to the cut outs. It seems cheap and won't last. Mario Kart needs to be better then this. I'd love to see some innovation in this area, with a track that was free roaming and could fit 12 cars. Make it modular. You can start with 2 and add more cars and tracks as extras. Make the official tracks from the games and sell those at the lowest price possible. This should be a no brainer. The Mario Kart slot car gane could be so much better. Integrate the switch, but keep using the track as without it, it's just another remote control car.

I bought this as a special little something for my 5 year old grandson. He liked it but had trouble slowing down around the curves so the car would fall off. But it is fun for him. Easy to put together and not that expensive! If he’s happy so am I!!!

My 4yr old son (3yrs old at time of purchace) absolutely loves his Mario track so much so that his mother and I bought him the larger version for his birthday on top of this one we have great fun with this!
