This will most probably never happen to your child but in the event the worst happens be prepared. Once completed this pack contains all the information that the authorities will need to know about your child (as long as you keep it up-to-date). In the event of an emergency, every second counts, and being able to provide accurate information to give to the police is crucial. The best way to be prepared is by keeping a record of your child in a safe place or to take with you at events to hand over immediately to the authorities to start the search. The KidPack has a three pronged approach. Number 1: By educating children to potential dangers in an informed, non-fear based manner. Parents can fill out the Kidpack whilst discussing the safety tips provided with their child. Number 2: Preparing parents to respond effectively should their child go missing by compiling all of the critical information that the police would need in the event of an emergency. Number 3: Making sure a child has an emergency contact number hidden in their shoe, so that they can approach an appropriate adult to help find their parent. The Kidpack ensures that if the worst does happen and you are in a panic you won't have to remember crucial information about your child (like their height, weight etc.). Although this is a new concept for the UK the FBI in the U.S.A have been giving out packs like these for years to parents. Two shoe stickers are provided which stick to the inside of a child's shoe and have a protective film so the numbers don't rub off. DO NOT FORGET TO UPDATE THE KIDPACK EVERY YEAR AS YOUR CHILD GROWS.
