very bright when set high but compass gets stuck(but it can get unstuck if you wiggle it hard enough because the sheet gets stuck on the sides) but didn't expect a great quality compass on this thing. as for the battery life, i really hope it goes as long as advertised...well, most likely in the lowest light setting.

We really love these. They are light-weight and small. We went camping on the beach and chased crabs in the dark with these lanterns. It was fun! We also set up our tent a little late so by the time we were done cooking, we were eating in the dark and these came in handy. Love that they are LED, so no need to change bulbs.

When I first opened the box, I was disappointed because the lanterns were so very small. I thought they were toys! But, they do put out a tremendous amount of light. One of the "bulbs" went out on one lantern on our first outing but they are definitely not a bad buy for the money.

These are great. They are light weight, easy to store in your gear and they are bright
