Storey's Guide to Raising Meat Goats, 2nd Edition: Managing, Breeding, Marketing

Great book that is thorough on how to raise meat goats. Price was a tad high I think, but worth it for the material.

Enlightening and comprehensive. I had little goat keeping experience, and now feel much better informed. The book was readable (not too wordy), and had a good balance of pictures/diagrams to text.

I bought this book more than a year ago when I was just beginning to acquire some meat goats. I read part of the book then but didn't understand it very well. This year, after my 3 nannies had 7 kids, I went back and read the book in more detail. I am amazed at the amount of information provided and the quality of the advice. I read different chapters multiple times, depending on the current relevant issue that needs to be addressed. I definitely recommend this book.

Great condition, front cover does have permanent marker on it, but I bought it used. That was the only thing that was wrong, but lil bit of rub alcohol on swab cleaned it off. Thank you!

This book is great! I contemplated after seeing the bad reviews but it was worth the try. Some complained about the degrading of the goat species by the listing of diseases - but those are possibilities - vet consultation alone is $70 it is imaginably profitable to know how to treat it or when to cut ones losses ... I am pursuing studies in Animal Husbandry and plan to establish a commercial farm and I must say the book gives logical/correct methods and solutions - to the diseases highlighted too. Trust me when I say the internet search for practical, truthful and most efficient information on meat goat rearing is a drawn-out, tedious and mostly unsuccessful - so Stay calm and read this book!!

We are just starting to raise goats and need all the help we can get. There is another book that is a must have for new goat farmers. Raising Goats for Milk and Meat. I purchased the book thru Heifer International for only 15.00 US dollars which is a donation for their cause. Also bought Raising goats for Dummies. I am sure there are other books that work well also. Storey's Guide and Raising goats for Dummies give very good information on a lot of topics. The Raising Goats for Heifer International is like going into a classroom with instructors.

I really wish I had bought a hard copy of this book to begin with. It is just too time consuming to look things up in an emergency on the Kindle version. I ordered the book in hardcover because I plan to keep it and share it with my son who is learning about raising meat goats.

A good quality Storeys guide. I do prefer the slightly older versions but this does the same job, just a bit glossier

The Storey's Guide series is hands down the best reference material for new and experienced keepers. This book has everything, from breeds, care, health, breeding, and housing. If you're interested in meat goats, this is definitely a must have.

So much good information on meat goats. We are beginners in this and have used this book so much already.
