Great size! Great quality!
Absolutely love the size and love how fast this hot plate heats up. The size is perfect for me. I use this product to warm up and restore lipsticks that have either been mushed up or if I want to use what is left in my lipstick tubes and create a new one. Love this size-great for craft projects or even teaching my 5year old grandchildren how to cook without being near such a big oven/stove!

Gentle Heating, Excellent for Low Temp Warming
I wasn't sure what to expect out of this but the heating is very gentle for soap. You'll definitely like this for chocolate and keeping things warm. I had looked at this plate multiple times for candles actually and passed over it, fearing it would scorch and be difficult to handle. To be fair, I am glad I did not purchase it for that usage because the other options were better for reaching high temperatures faster but this is a really nice gentle low temp hot plate in general. If you need to reach HIGH temperatures for mixing in your candle coloring clips and binding scent, this little guy does take a while but it can get there. But this is also why I really like it for soap making. Temperatures are easily maintained at low temps. The soap will not boil. So, it's great to sit your mixing and pouring cups on between candle pours too. It will keep them warm. Really good tool.

Cute small hot plate
I initially bought this little hot plate for melting butters to make body cream. However, I also tried using it for making candles. This wasn’t the best idea, as it doesn’t get hot enough, and if you plan to make more than three candles, you'll need a larger hot plate to accommodate a bigger pot. On the plus side, it's easy to use, looks great, and is cute. It's also affordable and offers good value, though cleaning it up doesn’t take much effort. If you're primarily melting oils to make butters, like shea butter and wax, it works perfectly for small batches. Overall, it’s a good option for light use.

Warms well and sits solidly for safe operation
This little burner is around 4 inches across should you want to place a small skillet on it. It warms well though a bit slowly. It turns on and off to maintain a consistent temperature. I use a mini cast iron griddle to warm my wax spoon in and to avoid getting wax for seals in the burner itself. I like this unit. I also know I will never leave it unattended as it does become quite warm. The burner itself is not the coil type so there is no glowing element.

Doesn’t melt wax
Doesn’t get that hot. Takes forever for the wax to melt and wax is pretty chunky at high temperature.

ideal for 4-6 cup coffee percolator
over the last several years i have had numerous hot plates fail in just months. including 2 built in counter top units. 95% of my use is to perk coffee with small percolator- which has a smaller diameter bottom than most electric hotplates. this unit is exactly the size of my 6 cup percolator, half the wattage of the larger units and percs much faster than any previous units in the 1,000/1,500 watt range. the best thing about this small unit is that all the heating surface is under the percolator- all 500 watts of heat directly used. never have to turn past 3 on the dial to get the coffee started. EXCELLENT PRODUCT!
