In Dec 2024 I adopted two cats from Animal rescue - they'd been there for 6 months. I quickly discovered they're very picky eaters. As soon as I got up in the morning, they'd be under foot looking for food, & every time I went into the kitchen, again they'd be under foot scrounging for food. I tried, Friskies Chicken Pate (every cat I've ever had before loved this & these 2 little darlings did too for a while then decided they didn't like it any more. Tried Blue Buffalo "Tastefuls" which seemed okay but Missy doesn't chew her food well & would throw-up every other day. I tried to grind in up in my Ninja Food Processor, but it's so hard I had to add almost equal amounts of water & even then it was only partially ground (it still had good size pieces that refused to break down, even after running it for 3 mins). Both Missy & Little Lady refused to eat it - I even added homemade chicken stock - but that didn't help. Somehow I discovered Cats.com - They have a list of their top rated foods & the Solid Gold High Protein is listed as their top Budget Friendly Dry cat food. First thing I noticed with this DRY cat food is that it actually smells good! Contains: Chicken, Ocean fish meal, Potatoes, Canola Oil, Pumpkin, Cranberries, Eggs, Blueberries, Flax Seed, carrots, Peas, vitamins & supplements . From the first day I began feeding my cats this food they no longer constantly pester me for food. At first I thought they didn't like it since they didn't chow down the second I put the food down, but I noticed all the food was gone when I got up in the morning. I'm guessing this implies that this food must be very satisfying. Also, when I clean out the kitty litter every morning, I find more Kitty Ditties, (their drinking more water) & more Kitty Do's (so obviously much more fiber). All round I would highly recommend this food if your Feline companion doesn't require a special diet, but Solid Gold does offer a good variety of foods for a multiple of feline dietary needs!

My cat loves this. I have been buying it for many years. My cat is 18 yrs old. He is now in early stage kidney disease but his blood work is like that of a 6 yr old cat i am told. Many cats cause of declining health is kidney disease. Low Phosphorus food is best. I dont really know the level this has. I am changing The diet and will ask this company for their lowest phosphorus food but usually these are vet prescription diets. This all being said The company is amazing, helpful, friendly and family owned. The food is great!!!

My cats love this cat food. It seems like a healthier choice than the standard dry cat food.

So far, so good!!! They LIKE it!! Had to find a new brand since Purina took their usual, white meat chicken and egg off the market!! A houseful of cats have been eating it since they were kittens!! Really was afraid to change!! We’ve been mixing it in with our last bag of Purina and gradually putting out small amounts just plain..and SUCCESS!! They like it!! Really small pieces, dark in color and very crunchy!! I hope they don’t stop with this one!! Cheapen it up with oats and other junk!! I don’t care how expensive it is!! I just want quality product for our babies!!!

My cats did not really enjoy it but their coats all looked beautiful after the second bag of this food. I can tell that it is high quality based on their appearance. Our veterinarian said they were all an excellent health and to keep doing whatever we have been. Overall I would recommend.

I have an elder cat (14-15yo)with diabetes. Her medicine gives her diarrhea with every other food Ive tried other than solid gold. The constant diarrhea also caused her to lose weight and make her boney. Since switching to solid gold shes gone from 9.5lbs to 10.5lbs in a month or so. She was 11lbs pre diabetes. She also eats less as I imagine its more protein dense. Im so completely satisfied with this product! Next time I take her to the vet Ill get her glucose levels checked and monitored and hope its doing good things for those as well.

PRODUCT DEFECT CANT REFUND DONT BUY! Ordered this in Jan 2024, item came and BUGS YES TINY BUGS started to crawl out of out cat food packaging. Found out that there are holes on the packaging which doesn’t ensure a tight seal around product. This isn’t the same from the usual product. Worst off you can return or refund product. DO NOT BUY
