My son is 3 and this gel was perfect! It smells very good and provides a clean, brushed look. It is not max hold, so he can easily run his fingers through it. Very easy to apply! We are still learning the amount of water we need to use to assist with brushing out tangles before using the gel, so the gel will stick and mold without being too runny.

It has good hold, but after a few hours, it starts to wear off and gets pretty flakey. I usually try to comb it all out, but it ends up looking dandruff-y
