Following his explosive New York Times bestseller Red Notice , Bill Browder returns with another โexplosive and compulsiveโ (Stephen Fry) thriller chronicling how he became Vladimir Putinโs number one enemy by exposing Putinโs campaign to steal and launder hundreds of millions of dollars and kill anyone who stands in his way. When Bill Browderโs young Russian lawyer, Sergei Magnitsky, was beaten to death in a Moscow jail, Browder made it his lifeโs mission to go after his killers and make sure they faced justice. The first step was to uncover who was behind the $230 million tax refund scheme that Magnitsky was killed over. As Browder and his team tracked the money as it flowed out of Russia through the Baltics and Cyprus and on to Western Europe and the Americas, they were shocked to discover that Vladimir Putin himself was a beneficiary of the crime. As law enforcement agencies began freezing the money, Putin retaliated. He and his cronies set up honey traps, hired process servers to chase Browder through cities, murdered more of his Russian allies, and enlisted some of Americaโs top lawyers and politicians to bring him down. Putin will stop at nothing to protect his money. As Freezing Order reveals, Browderโs campaign to expose Putinโs corruption was a factor behind Russiaโs intervention in the 2016 US presidential election. At once a financial caper, an international adventure, and a passionate plea for justice, Freezing Order is โmandatory reading for anyone who wants to understand the tactics of modern autocracy,โ (Anne Applebaum, Pulitzer Prizeโwinning author of Twilight of Democracy ). It is a stirring morality tale about how one man can take on one the worldโs most ruthless villainsโand win. Review: great and inspiring book - This is truly an interesting and inspiring book. I read Bill Browderโs Red Notice thinking no way could he write another awe inspiring book - well he did it with Freezing Order. A really great book! Review: Every American should read this book. - It's a sequel to Browder's "Red Notice," and a true story that should make you fear for the future of the USA because of the character of Vladimir Putin and the malign influence Putin appears to wield over our current (2025) president. Browder deserves a Knighthood for his bravery in memorializing his friend Sergei Magnitsky, for shining a light on the theft of trillions of dollars of wealth from from the Russian people by its kleptocratic leaders, and for alerting us to the dangers of our present situation. Oh, and it's an easy read thanks to great editing as well as writing. (Good editors deserve more credit than is usually given them, IMO.)

Hardcover had NO index: Great book-Consider the e-version
This is a phenomenal book, one of the best books I've ever read, so good that I am re-reading it. I contacted the publishing company because my copy didn't have an index. They replaced it with a copy that has an index. If you buy this book, I recommend you consider the e-version. This book is extremely well written, with a phenomenal story that reads like a novel. It displays unbelievable flaws in our judicial system. The reader that stated this book is politically leaning is nuts--Trumps willingness to hand Bill Browder over to Putin in a political exchange is a reflection on the extreme corruption of the Trump administration. Browder seems very deferential of many of the political right. This book displays what Americans really need to know about world affairs in a riveting expose. Put your politics aside and read this with an open mind.

What a well written, easy to follow storyline. This book connected many of the dots for me. Hard to put down.

Required Reading
This compelling true story makes sense of our recent experiences with Russia and the Trump administrations. Our family adopted children from Russia in 2001 and were told that they stopped allowing adoptions by US citizens because of failures on the part of American adoptive parents. We had heard of the connection to the Magnitsky Act but couldnโt have imagined the vast network of international criminals it was designed to bring to justice. I commend Bill Browder for his courage and steadfast commitment to this cause.

Compelling
Browderโs follow up to Red Notice is equally compelling. Given the atrocities Putin continues to commit in Ukraine, the book is as timely as it ever was. The bravery of those involved is truly remarkable and it is heartening in this age of disinformation and cynicism that there are people with principles who refuse to be intimidated by Russian thugs (or American for that matter). Great read!

Decent story
The only issue i have with the story is that it could be totally false... Basically, the center argument is that Russia is bad because Putin, and so anything the Russian government says is false and Bill is right. I feel like there is more to the story than Bill's side. Also, he buddies up to some real scum bags (see Justin Trudeau) making his story less credible, in my opinion. It is an entertaining story though, and if true, the corruption is appalling.

Fantastic sequel
Excellent sequel to Red Notice. One of the best non fiction reads. The afterword is particularly well written in the context of the current political tug of war around military aid.

A great read. Loved it.
Read Red Notice first then read this. Even though you do not need to read these two books in the sequence I explained. It will give you some idea about Freezing Order when you read Red Notice first.

Another astonishingly readable book by Browder.
Amazon insist on asking me why I have 'used this product'. For information can be my only answer, although even if you just wanted to read a top class novel about money laundering you couldn't do better.
