Faithfull FAIHA12 Hickory Axe Handle 12IN

These handles are terrific, I am just about to order another. Very nicely finished and fit my hand well. They are hickory and very tough, a good company to deal with.

A good quality handle made from nice hickory wood and well machined. the pre-shaped head end fitted my axe head well with only a small amount of paring due to irregular axe insert hole. Pre-cut for wedge and would have been nice if a hard-wood wedge were supplied, for the price.

A nice piece of wood and well finished. My only complaint was that the top end of the handle was too big for the eye in my axe head and I had to remove quite a bit of wood to get it to fit. However, it's better than it being too small.

I got this for a 1.5lb hatched head I had to give it more leverage. It came and the gran is nice and straight the right way, the wedge cut in mine was only slightly off but barely noticeable and it's also got great shock absobsion much more superior to the hardwood handle that it used to have. I did have to sand a lot of material off but that's pretty standard with axe handles so don't expect it to straight on. All in all I'd definitely recommend

"you can always take more wood off, but you can't add it back on" - The end that recieves the axe head is far too skinny. If the manufacturer left more material on, then you could trim it to size. Made excellent firewood - but not in the intended manner. It's gone now.

It's a great hatchet handle. I restore a lot of axe heads and you can learn quite a bit from it. The grain of the handle was acceptable and it feels nice to hold. Ignore the people who claim it's to skinny and won't last long, they don't know what they are talking about. A more slim handle has better shock absorbing abilities because it can flex more in use. I like the palm swell the handle has, makes it feels very secure. It actually costs more to make a handle with a palm swell because you have to start of with a bigger piece of wood and slim it all down accept at the bottom which creates the swell. In my opinion this handle is great and it is how they used to be made, before fat handles that caused blisters came about when mass producion happened, cutting corners and skipping research. In fact, the handle feels almost identical to the one on a gransfors wildlife hatchet and that cost a lot! You don't get many people complaining about gransfors axes do you? Not bad price as well it was an almost perfect fit on my Elwell 1 1/4 hatchet head (fantastic steel by the way, holds an edge like no other). Going off topic now but buy it if you want a nice handle.

Curf in the top was off centre, but appart from that the handle had more flow to it than the one on the picture on Amazon, very nice shape. Comes varnised, seems a bit light in colour for hickory but im sure it is.

A good fit for my CK 1.5lb hatchet head. Needed a bit of whittling to fit as ever, but a good fit achieved without too much effort, and with the addition of a wooden wedge along with the metal wedge recycled from the broken handle.Nicely shaped. Not perfectly finished with the wedge slit being cut a little eccentricly and the handle surface feeling to me like it needs a fine sanding, but not bad at all.

Finesse du bois.. Attention c'est pas très large en prise en main... L'embout est étroit aussi.. La fente n'est pas super au centre... Mais ça ira.. Paraît un peu trop fine où élégante pour ambatre des arbres.. (.)

Un mango para hacha ergonómico y muy ligero. La madera es muy suave al tacto y desliza muy bien.Para sujetar la hoja a la madera haría falta algo más que una cuña. Yo he usado epoxi y cuña.
