I have used a similar product from a leading Home Furnishing retailer, and whilst theirs is cheaper, it doesn’t quite do the job 100%.I read the previous reviews before I decided to buy, and as you have no doubt seen they are very mixed indeed, BUT .............. this stuff is good, very good.I have fitted it to a rubber backed mat that sits on a carpet by the back door and it hasn’t budged an inch, not even 1/4 inch. I also have it on a hessian backed runner in the hall, and 48 hours later it hasn’t budged, not even by a gnats whisker.I’m not sure how long it will last, but I am very, very impressed indeed.Ignore the 1 star comments, because it really is the very best that I have ever used. Buy it, you won’t regret it.One week later ..............Neither rug has budged whatsoever.The hessian backed hall rug is also at the bottom of the stairs and obviously has a lot of foot traffic and hasn’t moved in any direction.The rubber backed mat at the back patio door is the main door to the back garden which is in constant use and again it hasn’t budged.When I laid them, I put stickiest side to the rug/mat, and less stick to the short pile carpet.And a month later they still haven’t budged whatsoever, not even by a gnats whisker!And now, 3 months later they have not budged whatsoever where 3 months of using other similar products would have had them in a different county by now!

When it finally arrived-after 3 weeks, i peeled off the film to stick to my rugs. It wouldn't stick to either rug. I ended up taping it to the rug to get it to stay on. Once attached to the rugs, i peeled the film off the other side (this was awkward as the anti-slip mat stretches out of shape very easily when peeling off the film). It stuck to the carpet quite nicely...so far! My lounge rug, which used to creep around the room has actually stayed put for the last couple of days. Only time will tell. The hall rug is creeping already because the tape i applied had come off. Its not a great product but better than nothing!

Don't buy this product! It doesn't work...after a few weeks the rug you're trying to secure will start moving again. And if you try to remove the underlay you'll find that it leaves a sticky residue on the carpet underneath. I'm going to have to get my carpet cleaned now as the residue has left a visible shadow behind. Really annoyed. I emailed the seller but I got no response. Bad product and bad customer service.

I have seen some bad reviews where the instructions have clearly not been read.This product works well under a full mat, certainly will not move.

I was a bit worried about the varied reviews - either great, or rubbish! - so I bought it as a risk, with no real expectations if I'm honest. I wanted to use to it stop a small 'wipe your feet' washable mat moving in my carpet. Everytime I stepped on this little rug, I did have to move it back to its original place and it was driving me mad. The grip underlay arrived and I cut it to the size I wanted to fit completely under the small rug. The underlay does feel a bit sticky, but not in a wet way (if that makes sense!) it stuck fairly well to the rubberised bottom of the rug and I peeled off the shiny plastic cover from the other side of the underlay. I made sure the carpet was clean underneath the little rug and placed it back in the place I wanted it to stay in. It's now two days later and the rug hasn't moved even a fraction. To say I'm delighted is an understatement- it is fantastic! I've got quite a lot of underlay left, so I shall be keeping it for anything else I feel a need tos tick to carpet :-).

Adhesive works on first application, I removed my rug to hover underneath it and from then onward it’s gone back to slipping, which is not safe especially since I bought it coz we have a baby that learning to walk. Not really safe.

I bought this as I had a rug that continually travelled across my carpet. I even tried to hold it in one place by putting a coffee table leg on one corner and an armchair on another, but it still bunched up as soon as you walked on it. This gripper has been brilliant! It is like a sticky sheet of fleece, but not so sticky that you can't handle it. It totally holds the rug in place but lifts off the carpet when you need to move it. It does not leave any residue or stickiness on the carpet. It is very easy to cut to size too. I had a piece left over and I placed it under the rubber backed rug in my hall, which again never stayed still, and it worked a treat on that too. Amazing stuff and so cheap!

Purchased one of these underlays a few months back to secure an 80 x 110 cm rug over the carpet by the front door. The rug fills this small area but due to us constantly walking between the living room and kitchen, I had to put the rug bag in place dozens of times a day. The rug hasn’t budged so much as a mm since it was secured with the underlay, not only staying put with himself and I walking across it but also with my friends two huge GSD’s running riot. The underlay was super easy to cut to size, then it was just a case of peeling off the backing on one side and attach to the rug before peeling the backing off the other side, then flipping the rug over and placing it by the front door. I have already purchased a second underlay ready to secure the small mat I have ordered for the front room.
