Strong and complex fragrance!
It took me a while to write this review because I wasn't sure what to make of this fragrance. This is my first oud fragrance so I didn't know what to expect. This is a strong, oud forward, complex fragrance that might not be for everyone. The first scent that I noticed was a strong lavender citrusy sweetness; then the oud becomes prevalent. The best way I can explain oud is that it is like a warm musky woody scent; it kind of smells like sweet warm sweat TBH. This oud scent is present throughout the entire development of the fragrance but its more prevalent towards the middle of that development. Finally, a sweet woody powdery scent takes over for the rest of the fragrance's development: it's soft, warm, and pleasant. When it comes to performance, I got a solid 8+ hours of longevity with a strong sillage for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. This is a strong fragrance and you can easily overdo it.The bottle is kind of weird looking, and cap can be a bit hard to put back on ( it only goes on in one direction.) I have accidentally sprayed a couple of times while trying to put the cap back on. It's not a big deal for me, all I care about is the juice inside. At first, I didn't quite get the fragrance, its like nothing I've used before, but I ended up liking it. I would say that, if you can sample it first, do so, but at this price point I think it's worth the risk if you like oud fragrances.

A Budget-Friendly PDM Layton Alternative – Smooth, Spicy, and Elegant 🌿🍎🔥
Al Haramain Detour Noir is one of the best affordable dupes for Parfums de Marly Layton, capturing about 90% of the vibe at a fraction of the price. It’s a warm, slightly spicy, and subtly sweet fragrance with a woody-vanilla dry-down that makes it perfect for cooler weather and date nights.✔ Bright apple & citrus opening—just like Layton’s fresh, spicy start 🍏🌟✔ Smooth lavender & cardamom heart—adds warmth & depth 🌿💜✔ Vanilla, sandalwood, & amber dry-down—creamy, cozy, and long-lasting 🍦🔥✔ Amazing value—smells luxurious without the luxury price tag 💰🏆Bottom line: If you love Layton but don’t want to splurge, Detour Noir is a must-try. It’s warm, smooth, and incredibly close to the original—making it one of the best budget-friendly designer fragrance alternatives out there! 🌿🔥👌

Super fresh and a bit floral
I bought this cologne because it was supposed to closely resemble PDM Layton which honestly I hadn't tried but I've heard they make some of the best colognes out there so I thought I'd give this a try considering the price. This was a complete blind buy so I don't want to knock too hard but it really just wasn't for me. This scent is fresh but sweet and a little floral and it reminds of a well put man in a business suit. That being said, I really don't like that style of cologne that is light and fresh, but I will say out of all the fresh colognes I've tried here recently that I ended up not liking, this one was the best of the bunch. It reminds me a bit of Boss Bottled #6 which I didn't like at first but then it grew on me. I compared the two and they are not the same really, but Boss bottled has that vanilla, floral freshness going on too. Projection is good, my wife did actually like it, but she didn't love it. It's just not my thing but I gave it 4 stars since it appears to be a good quality, fresh scented cologne.

This fragrance is amazing
This is my best blind buy to date. This cologne smells amazing. I can’t recommend this enough. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best. Detour Noir is a 20. Advice,If you get this fragrance. Please spray it 5 times and just let it sit without using it for a week. After a week the cologne settles into something amazing. I never smelled the fragrance it’s covering. But this can easily stand only, in a high end department store. This is my review, coming from an average consumer. I hope this helps.

Smells Perfect but Does Not Last
I love the smell. It's a perfect clone of PDM's Layton, however, no matter what I do, it's gone within a couple of hours. I've tried moisturizing first and even applying to clothes. It just doesn't last. Also, the bottle and cap are horrible. I would recommend buying one of the other clones (there are a ton), such as The Woods Collection Dusk or Xclusif Oud by Orientica.

Read this, then buy it
This is just my experience. Skin is different and body chemistry can alter the performance and longevity so please only take my review of the scent itself into consideration. I have never smelled PDM Layton, so this a review based strictly on this scent. To start, I hate vanilla scents. I consider myself a scent freak with a big nose to prove it. I’ve traditionally hated vanilla scents, but this hits different. I’m not walking around smelling like a latte or white chocolate bar, this a very mellow and smooth vanilla. The initial spray is strong, the vanilla is hidden behind a deep fruit and woods. Projection is strongest in the first two hours. From there, the dry down is like nothing I’ve experienced. Hours 2-4 is when a creamy and non-oppressive vanilla begins to shine through. I wish I had words to describe how much I enjoy it. Hours 4 and on, at least for me, this is mostly a skin scent only noticeable from an inch off skin. I recommend spraying on clothes for longevity and projection-it will stay for days on end. But it last forever on skin and I can smell it when water hits my skin the next morning in the shower. The bottle is shaped like pregnant woman and the cap is cheaper than my grandmother at a flea market, but this scent is well worth the price. I highly recommend. If you read this full review, you’re invested bro. Buy it, I promise you and others will love it. Be safe.

Not bad
First smell was a bit synthetic. But then started to come around. Starts off warm and then settles down with a smokey vanilla scent. Seems to last for 5 hours. The projection starts off strong, the dies down a bit. The cap feels really cheap. But for $20, I like it.
