Why spend more than £5 on a toilet plunger? Because it's absolutely worth the money. This works far better than the widely available inexpensive 'red-headed' plungers. It's an effective tool, solidly made. We've been through our share of 'red-headed plungers'. Never again. This one is far better designed and made, and has never turned inside out. Whatever plunger you use, remember to PULL, not push to clear the toilet blockage. Press the plunger down firmly against the drain hole of the toilet bowl, then pull UP smartly to release the solid matter blocking the drain. All toilets differ. But with this plunger we've never needed to do this more than twice at most to clear a blockage, because the plunger end fits over the toilet drain so much better then the 'red-headed' models and similar. It's fast, it's effective, and that's what you want when the water in the bowl is going up instead of down. When its work is done, pour bleach or toilet-bowl cleaner into the bowl to make a quick cleaning solution. Leave the plunger sitting in that for a few minutes. Then swish it around well, flush that away, then rinse the plunger in the clean water that returns to the bowl. Afterward, remember to lean the plunger to one side to dry, with the top of the handle resting against the wall and the bowl end tipped up. If you leave the working end sitting flat on the floor, air can't circulate underneath to dry it, and it won't be fun cleaning out the resulting mold and mildew. Make life easy: care for your clever plunger as above and it will stay fresh and ready to use whenever the inevitable toilet emergency arises (pun intended).

It's very useful for what it was designed.

My toilet was totally and frankly revoltingly blocked. I tried buckets of water, bendy metal pipes, chemical unblockers, dalek style plungers..... Nothing worked. We were desperate and this plunger was my last throw of the dice. It took a good few pumps to do it's thing, but it worked! It's now my new best friend. It's a good long handle so you don't need to have you hand in the mess.... and the rubber end is like a concertina that fits into the hole and creates a vacuum. I wouldn't bother with traditional plungers, use this. It worked when all else failed.

Cleared a blockage that another plunger didnt

After trying a number of different options, plungers and pistols with compressed air I found this. Keeps unblocking the toiler with a single attempt every time. After paying a plumber company 110 pounds 6 months ago for an emergency, using this is so easy without an effort. Success every time you use it. Just keep it down, covering the toilet bowl, flush the water and when water comes up at the highest level pull a couple of times up and then remove it. If the water is still up coming down slowly, put it back to the bowl and pull a couple of times a bit harder. That's about it really.

My toilet blocks once or twice a year usually, this time none of my usual tricks worked such a boiling water, baking soda and vinegar. This fixed it within 2 seconds with zero effort. Solidly built. Perfect function. 10/10.

I have no idea how this compares to other plungers but it unblocked my toilet straight away. Perfect fit. Seems robust. I can sleep happy now

I've tried the Home Bargains plunger, invested in a Mr. Siga flange plunger when that crapped out after 2 years, only for the pricey Mr. Siga to crack after 2 months. This is the one, the only one, to actually manage to form a seal on a UK toilet bowl. I hope it lasts, as it is brand new, so I can't comment on durability. But from function alone it's the only toilet plunger I will ever recommend going forward

I used this plunger as soon as I received it to flush citric acid and boiling water solution both through the sink drain and the toiled bowl. It cleans up the insides from any bacteria right away and the plunger helped me move the solution back and forth when using small pumping motions. All the invisible before gray plaque and bits of I do not know what (hard water scales, they were light yellow color, came out floating right away and were easily flushed with more citric acid and then with clean water. The plunger helped me do all of that. This is made in Taiwan, shipped in its own box, a very sturdy plunger. Truly a heavy-duty one with a comfortably long handle, so that my hand has choice in positioning.

My husband, and isn't it almost always the husband, consistently blocks up the toilet. Normally it would take up to six or more hours of plunging every twenty minutes or so to remove the clog. The last time it happened was after hours and the plumber charged over two hundred dollars for the service call. This was a bad clog because eight hours of plunging and swearing did nothing to unclog it. Swearing actually doesn't help but it nearly always makes me feel better. I had read reviews of this plunger and didn't think anything could work that well, but I ordered it for next day delivery, and am I glad I did. The plumber did nothing to help the ongoing problem. It was clogged up again the next morning, which really enraged me! Two hundred bucks and it still wasn't working properly. As soon as the plunger arrived I ripped open the box and tried it out. I didn't have to put as much strength on it as before, and in less than a couple minutes, the clog was gone. It actually was less than a minute. This is a really great plunger, and I have never said that about any plunger before, but after years of my husband clogging the toilet, I had reached my level of thinking all plungers were the same, or useless. I just thought only hours of muscle strain and swearing were the answer. Not so. If someone in your house passes bricks daily and uses half a roll or more of toilet paper, do yourself a favor and buy this plunger. It really works, and with very little effort on your part. You may never swear again, but you can if you want to. I just wish I had bought this before I had to spend two hundred bucks. This is better than whoever the plumber was. He committed highway robbery and didn't do what he was paid to. This cost a lot less than the plumber, took almost no time and effort, and no colorful words from me. I bought an auger on the same order, and I haven't needed to use it yet. I have fewer clogs and I am not plunging every day like I used to. My husband appreciates the fact that I am no longer bellowing at him. Well not about the toilet anyway!
