Right One For My Car
This is the correct gas cap for my MERCURY. Some makes require a special type cap & my car is one of them. Easy to install, it is the "push" type with a tether. Hard to find at local auto parts stores. However, it does not come with the screw for the tether. Thank goodness I saved mine from my old cap. Recommend.

It’s Motorcraft, No Worries
It’s Motorcraft, no fit issues what’s so ever. This is going on a Ford Windstar SE Sport minivan. I’ve previously purchased a Gates gas cap at a local parts store, and had fit issues. The ring didn’t fit the cap. I had to sand the old ring to get the gas cap to fit. This Motorcraft gas cap came with a new ring and fit perfect.

Fits, but very tight
Exactly as described. Fits my car as the Amazon app said. Genuine Motorcraft part. Bad part is that it is extremely tight to insert/remove. Almost feels like it was a bad batch. Hoping it loosens up a little over time.

Then on the internet I ordered a cap (Motorcraft FC961) from Best Quality Auto Parts
Needing a fuel cap for my Ford Taurus SE 1999, I got from O’Reilly a MasterPro cap (#6832) made in Israel, which proved to be not an exact fitting replacement, of awful quality and concept in my opinion, which I returned back. Then on the internet I ordered a cap (Motorcraft FC961) from Best Quality Auto Parts, costing in total only $3 more (shipping free), but identical in all aspects with the original Ford cap. I received it three days later and it fit perfectly (I was a little nervous until I received it, because when I ordered it the only picture available was the top view of the cap, the rest not being visible). Furthermore, fortunately for me, now my engine does not stall at red lights anymore (even it is still behaving oddly), this being in the first place the reason why I took the chance to change the cap. In consequence, I promptly got with no hassle a quality replacement, solved my engine problem and I was very satisfied how my order was carried out by Best Quality Auto Parts.

Probably won’t work in your car.
Doesn’t fit the cars on the their list. I order it because they said it fit my car, it didn’t. Sent back for refund and somehow they didn’t receive it, even when I followed their directions and sent it UPS. So paid for a gas cap that didn’t work and I don’t have anymore. Just go to any auto parts store to buy a replacement. Save yourself the headaches.

Le quedo perfecto a mi explorer 2003 y lo mejor fue que por fin logre apagar el testigo de checar tapa de gasolina había comprado tapones genéricos por que me robaron el mio y me prendió el testigo de checar tapa de gasolina pero con este tapón original logre que quedara como nuevo sin el testigo 100% recomendado
