A beautiful brush, recommended
Love this brush!! Would definitely recommend it for quality and getting consistent results every time. Keeps it's shape after cleaning, soft bristles, yet a reasonably firm feel so control is easy. A bit on the expensive side, but worth it as I feel it will last well.

Amazing brushes. Best I've ever used.
I have been interested in watercolours for just over a year now and I've always been quite pleased using my Winsor and Newton Cotman brushes and I have seen many people recommend these brushes but I've had trouble locating a UK supplier and wasn't keen on the idea of paying the taxes from the U.S. I was pleasantly surprised to see them on Amazon and the price did not put me off as I knew these brushes were of high quality and I was definitely not disappointed. After using many other brushes and did not think using an expensive brush would not give you noticeable benefits straight away but I was wrong. These brushes are absolutely incredible and the amount of water the hold is beyond anything I've ever used before and the way it releases the pigment onto the paper is such a fascinating experience and I recommend if you're into taking your art to the next level I would not hesitate to use these brushes. Don't be put off by the price as you will not be disappointed.

Outstanding brush
I have quite a few brushes mainly W&N series 7 Had seen many reviews about these brushes so took the plunge and I’m not disappointed It has a very fine tip and holds a lot of paint If you are hesitating don’t , just go for it. It’s an outstanding brush and a pleasure to use 🤩

Good brush.
Nice brush. Holds acrylic paint well, releases it onto plastic miniatures in a neat, controlled way. It’s become slightly hooked, but that’s an issue I can sort.

Silver Black Velvet No. 12 brush
Only had this brush a few days and it has already become one of my favourites. It holds plenty of water and paint yet still comes to a fine point, as much as my squirrel mops. Hope to buy other sizes in this range. Recommend it to other watercolourists, especially if those who like to paint lots of large fluid washes.

I ordered this brush by accident. I wanted to get my hands on WN but ended up getting the “8” silver. Such a happy accident! This brush is very unique. I would like to call it the hybrid brush. It retains its shape firmly but is easy to control. On the first picture, you’ll see that it looks like it’s just a normal brush, but once you stroke your paper, it can behave like a dagger brush giving you the most beautiful and easy to control strokes. The best part about it also is the tip- it holds its shape and does not puddle the paper even if the belly is full. I have on the last picture the size “12”, notice that it can perform very fine line. A word of advice though: you only need 12, 8 and 6 brush. I did the last photo with size 12 brush alone to show how this large beast can perform fine details

Silver Black Velvet Brushes are wonderful watercolor brushes due to their soft bristles, wide belly and incredibly sharp tip. They hold loads of water and pigment and release them beautifully onto your watercolor paper. The tip is very sharp and precise, yet due to their big belly, these brushes have the ability to lay down wide strokes too. They are made of natural squirrel hair and black synthetic filament, so these are not animal friendly, if that is an issue for you. Keep in mind, due to the brush's soft nature, this is not a good lifting brush. If you want a firm watercolor brush with snap, these are not for you, but they are great for precision watercolor work and are a fantastic value. I have nearly all of the brushes in their line and have used them happily for over six years. The brush not only arrived with the plastic sleeve to protect the bristles, but the entire brush was encased in a plastic tube!
