I had never used one but never had a hernia and not sure if I tore tissue straining as we just moved. I turned 69 yrs yesterday and wearing it from when I get up to bed time I do not have any burning sensation nor pain. I took it off for an hour as I was relocating totes and the burning came back. I immediately put it back on and within 15 minutes the burning soreness subsided completely. Totally satisfied. Give yourself plenty of lead time prior to needing to use restroom and be patient putting it back on. If you find your in dire straights to go to the bathroom just grab each side and pull straight down, does so with ease. Unit fit very well, was comfortable and very effective...but...velcro is not holding up. Worn it for about a month, belt connection is curling up and will not hold nearly as good as it did when new. Under leg straps seem to have stretched a bit and their velcro strips seem to be losing their grip as well. It appears I am going to have to sew the belt connection and put them on same as a pair of pants. Maybe the underleg straps as well. In fairness tho I did pull of the straps and connections tightly, had to be tight or the belt was ineffective.

The truss works much better then the ones designed for men. The only reason I didn't do 5 stars is the Velcro seems a little under powered if there is such a thing. I did order 2 more though to get me through till surgery. I ordered smalls, I'm about a size 32 and the small works well on the first one I received.

Poor quality control, wasn't tested for a long enough period. They must get this complaint a lot: the main belt, the end of the belt that attaches with the velcro, is too thin because after some use it curls up and stops holding firmly so the belt keeps loosening and coming undone. Was fine in the beginning but after a few weeks of daily, full-time wear, this started happening. Also, sometimes the straps go up your butt crack (very uncomfortable feeling).

Ok, so these are for my husband. He has had multiple hernias and the surgeon wanted him to try wearing these to avoid further surgeries.They have kept us out of the ER, have kept the hernias from protruding and he said he is more comfortable with them on than he is when not wearing them.They seem well made, I have at this point ordered them 3 times for a total of 4 so we can hand wash and let dry.

Velcro on this didn't hold up very well.

Disappointed with the straps otherwise a good belt. Added Velcro to the straps that improved hold down of belt.
