The best book about Wham and their Friendship
This book is an excellent read! Andrew Ridgeley writes an extremely engaging memoir and you really get an insiders view on the origins of Wham! Lots of great pictures in the book too! It is a testament to Andrew, that even after 40 years he still has cherished memories of his time with George. It is also amazing to see how George transformed himself from an awkward shy teenager to the superstar we all know. Just recently, I have been consumed by all things George Michael. It’s almost as if I had a seven year delay on understanding how profound his death was to the pop world. I think being from the States I didn’t realize how significant his contribution was world-wide. Being just a few years younger than George and Andrew, I have vivid memories of Wham! and even remember the Bloomingdales at my local mall selling their “Choose Life” shirts in the 80’s. I also remember George Michael when his Faith album came out and thought it was beyond fantastic. I think I even remember LWP Vol .1, but it seems like after that I moved on to different music. Now I can’t get enough of Wham! and George Michael. I played Last Christmas over and over this past month. I have read several other books on George Michael, but this one by Andrew is a true testament to their friendship. Without Andrew pushing George along to form a band, the world may never have experienced George’s beautiful voice. It truly saddens me that George had some personal troubles and loneliness towards the end of his life. It is still hard to believe he is gone. However, I am grateful for all the glorious music he left behind. The Netflix documentary (which I also wholeheartedly recommend) also documents Wham! and their great friendship and really highlights how unbelievably fantastic of a songwriter George was. He really was a musical genius. I somehow just wished he believed and saw all this love during his lifetime. Thanks to Andrew and his true friends he will never be forgotten. He has been loved.

Ouvrage passionnante

A must-read for Wham! fans
Such a good-hearted, generous-spirited book! Made me laugh in places, but also made me hugely nostalgic. We lost a genius when George Michael died - but fortunately we have Andrew Ridgeley's kindness and wit to perpetuate the memories. If you were there ... you can't fail to enjoy this book.
