Q: Can this be used over chalk paint?

I bought it for that reason. It has worked perfectly. Spray on, leave for a minute or two then gently rub it in with a soft cloth.

Q: Does it help to remove smell from wood?

It was a long time ago that I bought this product and I don’t have it any more. However, I don’t think it will mask or remove any smell from the wood. We once coated some new oak framing in our bedroom with linseed oil. Worse product ever - it made the wood smell disgusting and we were never able to get rid of that smell no matter what we tried to clean it with. Only way we stopped the smell was by varnishing over the whole lot, which spoilt the look but at least stopped the smell.

I do not know. This wax Polish is only for furniture. You could try asking your local DIY store.

I had to think back to when I purchased this item ... yes, it was good stuff but I didn’t purchase it again because it gave the same result as Wood Silk that I purchase from my local supermarket. Yes, it certainly is suitable for the spindles and legs - it’s just a very nice non-silicone polish.
