Amazingly Delicious!
After my evening run on yesterday evening, I found myself hankering for a slice of good pizza, but did not want or need the typical delivery style which is laden with an extreme amount of calories, excess carbohydrates and gluten. After pondering for what seemed like forever, I referred to my Kindle reader and rummaged through the book, "Paleo Bread" which I had recently purchased and found the most delicious lower calorie, gluten free pizza crust recipe ever! In addition to pizza crust, the book has satisfying rolls, muffins and even a jalapeno cornbread recipe that are all a part of a Paleo lifestyle. This book is indeed a cookbook, in that it is crammed with over 75 "to die for" recipes, but it is also an excellent resource for a Paleo lifestyle and its effects on ones overall health. Some of the improvements include, but are not limited to weight loss, improved digestion, allergies, autoimmune disorders and heart health. The author makes every and succeeds in the attempt to let the reader know about the startling harmful effects processed bread foods have become in our society and reels you in by making you aware of the fact that with Paleo Bread, one can actually eat a greater volume of food while taking in fewer calories, thus leading to extended periods of satiety. However nice it was to have a potpourri of recipes and common knowledge of the Paleo lifestyle, the most invaluable piece of information in the book to me was the list of alternative ingredients that can be used in conjunction with Paleo breads or without. Chapter 9 of the book almost served as a coaching method for anyone serious about Paleo eating and inspired me as much as any self help book I have ever purchased. With this one, Rockridge Press deserves two thumbs up!

Lifes Joys Book Review
It is unfortunate that foods we all enjoy, are those that are slowly killing us as well. This book however, provides insight on how to make a healthy recipe, and not lose all the (fatty unhealthy) ingredients/tastes that we all enjoy so very much. I found this book extremely helpful to make bread. It's straight forward and direct. It does not try to explain how much better "tasting" Paleo cooking is than regular ingredients, but instead stands firm on the health basis of it all. The writer here is well aware that it's not as appetizing at first, and more work, but the effect of it all (a longer healthier life,) is well worth the effort. I particularly enjoyed the mention of all the coconut products available (oil, flour and milk.) Coconut products are voiced in a lot of these health cook books, and I cannot stress enough how very great it is for cooking and adds a wonderful, all-natural and sweet flavor as well. Though this book is titled "Paleo Bread," the advise they give and the use of healthier ingredients, pertains to all sorts of cooking. My favorite recipes are the Coconut Bread and Sunflower bread. There's coconut oil, milk, flour that you use for the coconut bread. When all the ingredients match in that way, the taste is truly magnificent. The sunflower bread is the same, you have sunflower oil and sunflower seeds as well that you can ground up. The taste is very rich in flavor, which is what a lot of people complain about when it comes to these health food recipes. I was happy to see the mention of honey as well. Honey, like coconut is a natural flavoring, without unwanted sugars that would throw off the nutrition. This is very helpful in general healthy cooking, not just bread. This was also well written and the recipes are easy to follow. I'm eager to try it all myself! Lastly, the quotes about bread at the end of each chapter was a charming touch. This was well spent money on this book and will treasure it for quite a while!

I must be missing something here, why and how are there so many postive reviews for this cookbook??
I have to warn everyone that almost every recipe I have tried in this book has been a colossal waste of ingredients, time, and money. I have no idea how this book has mostly positive reviews...it makes me wonder about who is really leaving reviews for this book?? It can't be people who have tried the same recipes that I have. Those of us that follow the "paleo" lifestyle know how expensive the ingredients and food can be. I was on my sixth recipe in this book, trying to make anything comparable to what was being described, and became absolutely disgusted with the results. There is major problems with every recipe I have tried so far. I tried to make the herbed focaccia bread, regular focaccia bread, the pizza crust, the Italian rolls, and two other types of buns.....it was all inedible!! And yes, I am an experienced baker. I know coconut flour will thicken in time, and can be drying. I also know to use fresh ingredients with my nut flours/almond flour, etc. I also know that measurements can be a bit off, and more flour/water can be necessary to form a dough or batter. But this was not the issue here, this was the complete inedible products these recipes produced. It is an incompetent book of recipes, that yielded truly awful results. I never write reviews, but tonight after my sixth attempt at one of the bread recipes written in this book, I became furious with the waste of ingredients, waste of money, and waste of my time!! I had to come here and leave a review.I at first thought it was my fault, even though I am an very experienced baker. I even blamed my ingredients because of all the positive reviews... it had to be me right? But now after six attempts at six different recipes... I am telling you this book has some serious problems. I would not be here writing this review if it was just a taste preference, as I have bought cookbooks in the past and not liked them. However, this cookbook has produced nothing but inedible results. It has been an absolute waste of ingredients, time, and money...and considering how expensive said ingredients are... I just had to speak up. This book has truly cost me a small fortune in "Paleo" ingredients without so much as one successful loaf of bread, pizza crust, or rolls. I have cooked other Paleo bread recipes/pizza crusts with success in terms of them being bread like...just didn't taste too great. I bought this book in hopes of making a decent focaccia bread for my sauces, jams, and nut butters. I also wanted it for that occasional pizza craving I get since going Paleo. However, this book was beyond disappointing, and can't be trusted to yield any positive results...at least for the above recipes I tried. I had high hopes for this book, and was excited to get started. I really wanted to like this book, but can't recommend it to anyone. There are just way too many recipes that are hit or miss...as for me...sadly all misses! :(

I like pictures with the recipes and this book just has ...
Lots of different recipes to try. Was looking for something closer to the texture of regular bread and bought it because of the picture...just doesn't tell you which recipe is the one on the cover. I like pictures with the recipes and this book just has the one on the cover. But the price was good value.

Tasty tasty!
When I first flicked through the book (much smaller and thinner than I was expecting) I was disappointed to see very few of them contained yeast. However, I assumed I could always add some and adapt the recip slightly.Im unsure which bread recipe would create the lovely looking bread on the book cover as the ones I tried that I thought might look like that ended up very brick like.Though I have only made 3 of the recipes, none of them rised much but boy did they taste great!!! One of them contained molasses and the 'loaf' reminded me of the malt loaves I used to eat which was a wonderful surprise!I will work my way through the recipes and though they didnt quite come out as I would like they taste great!!!

Nice little handbook. No photos though.
Very concise, misleading cover photo? No reference inside to which bread is pictured - it doesn't look anything like any of the breads I have made so far from this book, although what I made was tasty. Good pre-amble to each recipe, offering substitutions, variations, etc. No recipe photos though.Could also be handy to have 'further reading' suggestions about other paleo recipes (starters, mains, breakfasts).

but I'm happy with this recipe
I have found a bread that actually bakes perfectly from this book. I intend trying other recipes, but I'm happy with this recipe. Thanks
