Unhelpful tone

I didn't find this book very helpful, if anything the opposite. I didn't realise that the information in it is all tailored for Americans and the fact that it assumed I was a parent made it even more irrelevant for me. I found the book's tone very judgemental - it did not acknowledge that people in debt are already ashamed and embarrassed and if anything should be encouraged that they are taking steps to face up to and remedy their situation.

Good book. Read the whole thing on my toilet. Now my toilet is gold and I wipe with money. You can be like me too, but this book, dummy...

Really helped me a lot!

I love the "Dummies" books. They are simple and easy, but they do get the job done. It helped me a lot and made me realize how close I am to getting into serious financial trouble. I am working with a credit counselor to get on a budget in addition to the many tips given in the book. I recommend this book to anyone who is heading down the same path.

Great book. Straight forward, clear advice. Could be more complete, but then it would be harder to read fast. It's an excellent starting point!
