Powerful, smoky and intense EO.
Very good product made from the firings of birch, then rectified from crude by steam distillation, so it's a good, strong EO.People use this up to a 10% dilution to treat psoriasis, eczema and dandruffy scalp conditions. Cadinene is the active ingredient. There's around 20 drops per ml on this dripper, so you'll get 10% by adding 20 drops of Birch Tar to 9ml carrier. I think that's far too strong, and would prefer a 5% dilution, max., which will mean ten drips from this bottle onto two 5ml teaspoons of carrier - your carrier could be a soft cream, lotion or shampoo, depending on use. This Birch Tar EO is a base oil, smells woody, tarry, creosote. If you like the smell of burned out campfires, coal tar soap, you'll probably be drawn to this. Cade EO is very similar. Both will lighten up with diluting with Sandalwood oil, or Rose oilDon't get the neat EO on your whites, it may stain..

Basic Birch Tar
Pyrolytic distillate of Betula species, possibly rectified and diluted in alcohol: initially thin fluid dries quickly to a sticky film (i.e behaves like resinoid/absolute). Lacks intensity and tenacity compared to other more expensive versions, mediocre value for money.

Smokey - yeah!
I haven't quite figured out what to do with this but it seems like a good oil.To me it smells like smoked bacon or smokey bacon crisps, slightly meaty wood smoke. My son says it smells lovely and makes him fancy a smoked sausage on an open barbeque.

Campfire/burnt meat
I have to agree with others, this smells like burnt meat or a burnt out fire. I was expecting a little more of a coal tar, creosote smell, however this isn't close. It's very overpowering and makes the room smell like it's been fire damaged. If you like old fire smell this is perfect, but not for me.Service was great however.

I guess it is all good, but I personally cannot stand the smell
I guess it is all good, but I personally cannot stand the smell. It smells very strongly of smoked meat. So I now add it to skincare that is NOT for my face. But quality is great. Very fast delivery too
