Much nicer than varnish
If used according to instructions it’s a fantastic product. Stir well and as you work . I used this on my oak staircase. Rubbed down with medium sandpaper then using a brush I applied the oil very thinly spreading it out evenly. after just about 5 mins I wiped the surface with a cloth . I only did small sections at a time .After 24 hours I rubbed gently with a fine sandpaper then applied a second coat .Leaves an odour that last a good week . I used the product in December but would probably want to use again in the warmer months when I could leave windows open more frequently.

Wouldn’t use anything else!
third time of using this oil in ‘raw’ and wouldn’t use anything else. After sanding off the old stain, we applied two coats of this for a natural colour look. Using a lint free cloth, my husband and I liberally applied with one cloth and removed the excess with another. So easy to use, we’re relatively slap dash in application which has caused no issues anytime we’ve used it, just make sure you don’t over apply and wipe up excess/ any white makes before it dries. Quick drying, second coat applied 24 hours later leaving a hard and durable finish. 750ml goes so far, I wouldn’t listen to the calculator, we did 2 Costa’s in 2 large rooms and still had leftovers.

Works a treat
I found this product to be brilliant. Many reviews on here stating product leaves a chalky finish… yes it does. It states that themselves. The trick is only applying a small amount. For example I coated about a 8msq herringbone floor twice and I don’t think I used even a quarter. I have recently just used it on an unfinished Oak veneer door and probably only just got to a quarter down. Simply do as it states on the tin. If your unsure whether yore applying anything (as it can seem quite thin) simply feel the brush your self and you will know.I would however avoid this if you have dark coloured floors as I imagine it would only leave a white mist over the entire floor.

a very good product, once this has been applied as instructed ...
a very good product, once this has been applied as instructed you wouldnt know it had a a protective coat, this was used on an 6 ft pine table that had turned orange over time, after sanding with an orbital sander i took it back to original timber, after applying 3 coats there is no colour change,no sheen , totally transparent, and protects against all liquids including wine, for no sheen at all make sure its "Osmo 3044" my wholesaler never stocked it, i hope this helps ( 40 years decorator )

Amazing finish but only if you follow the rules…
The media could not be loaded. This looks amazing both on our sanded pine floors and used on an oak chest of drawers. It cures to a rock hard, matte sheen and is a nightmare to sand back off, so I guess it’s pretty hard wearing.HOWEVER - it contains a bit of white pigment to give its natural look so it is totally unforgiving if applied a bit thicker, or if any brush marks, or pools within dips. This is also more obvious on darker bits of the wood. We first applied to part of our floor using a brush and it was far too thick, and most of it needed sanded back. You therefore should apply very thinly. Use a microfibre cloth, and coat wood fully but leave no streaks. After 18-24 hours, sand very lightly by hand using fine sandpaper. Wipe away dust, and re-coat thinly again using the cloth. To finish, give the lightest of sands using a fine sandpaper after at least another 18 hours, just to smooth. Or you can use a non-scratch dish scourer. And I guarantee you’ll be happy.Coverage is better than advertised. 2.5 litres did us two coats of about 40 square metres, freshly sanded pine.

So easy! Doesn't smell bad! Loads left over! Has protected new table from Ribena hell! Woohoo!
I have never stained a table before, nor actually owned a real wood dining table. So was naturally quite anxious about applying this stuff to my brand new table. I actually loved the 'raw' wood look of my table and was worried about staining it a darker colour, or adding a shine I didn't want. I needn't have worried. This stuff was excellent. I read that some used a paintbrush and others a cloth. I ended up just rubbing it in with a cloth. The stuff spreads amazingly far and you needed very, very little. I just rubbed it in, you can see the in progress pictures, it didn't look 'white', as some reviewers had a problem with, as I used small amounts on my cloth and rubbed it in thoroughly as I went. It didn't take too much elbow grease, the smell wasn't too unpleasant and overall the task ended up being far less bothersome than I thought it would be - doesn't happen that way so often! Ended up with about half a tin remaining, after applying two coats to my table and sideboard. (I left 24 hours between coats as it says on the tin). Please note, I read one seller saying you needed to buy Osmo clear to put on top. You DO NOT need to do this, it states this nowhere in the instructions on the tin - don't make the same mistake I did, I bought both tins on this recommendation. Once I had read the back of the 'raw' tin, I realised I didn't need a coat of Matt on the top, and promptly sent back to the seller - at my own expense :(
