Easy-to-Make Pop-Ups (Dover Crafts: Origami & Papercrafts)

There are some good pop-up books out there. This is the best I've seen for beginners and kids. It has lots of easy and fun designs and gives you step-by-step instructions with illustrations for each design. Most other books don't spell out the steps or quickly move on to much more complex stuff. It's not as smart and inspiring as the beautiful pictures in some other books, but actually has practical designs that beginners/kids can be successful at and have fun with. That's worth a lot more than pretty pictures which are just too hard and frustrating to recreate.

We bought this book to help our daughter with a 4th grade pop-up project. It is full of great ideas and the directions are easy to follow. We had fun making the pop-ups together. I would highly recommend this title -- it's not just for kids, but easily used by crafty kids approximately ages 8 and up.

Got this for my 9-year-old grandson, who loves pop-ups. He can follow the instructions and make most of these with no problem, and they're just right for him--not too hard, not too easy. Now he's devising his own pop-ups. Makes beautiful and sometimes very funny cards for his family.

I used this book for my kids when they were homeschooling. I must have loaned it out, and decided to purchase it again. Easy pop-ups to make along with a few more advanced. These develop imagination and entertain for hours.

Some of these do not work very well. Unless you know what you're doing or have a more detailed book on pop-ups these pop-ups may not work.

This is a lovely book, not hugely colourful, but just what a beginner (which I most definitely am) needs. The diagrams show what to do from scratch, and I love what the author writes, that the first pop-up you make will be the hardest you'll ever make.It's a well-produced and wonderfully encouraging book.
