It works very well
I brought this plunger years ago and it continues to work very well when needed (every few months). I have lent it to others when they have an urgent need of such a product and it has also worked well for them. The plunger has two parts, with the handle screwing into the main body. Sometimes, during use, the handle becomes a bit loose and requires tightning. Alway ensure this handle is tightned well before usage to avoid it loosening too much during use. I have found it most effective to use it with the water level a high as possible, flushing as needed to raise the water level (taking care not to overfill the bowl).

A Smart Plunger!
The Good: This plunger has done what I wanted it to do - unblock my toilet. I had quite a heavy blockage that could not be shifted using a traditional plunger, but with two or three plunges with this product the blockage was gone. It's unique design fits into snuggingly into the toilet bowl and by moving the handle up and down it thrusts the water down the drain pipe, shifting any blockages along the way. The Bad: The instructions were not super clear, but this is such a straight forward device I just placed into my toilet and followed a bit of common sense to get it working. Water can collect in the groves of the plunger after use and because it doesn't come with a storage bag I had to leave it in the bath (due to its size) until it was dry.

Saved me in my hour of need!
I bought this device a while ago after a blockage in the bog which stubbornly refused to shift, but which I eventually managed to defeat after about a 2 hour battle, using a normal plunger. I decided that the next time the Karsey blocked, I wanted a decent tool for the job, and at the weekend, I found out just how useful this marvel actually is! On Saturday night I consumed a large amount of alcohol, followed by a dodgy looking kebab which was smothered in Chili sauce. Although I expected to be 'loose' on Sunday morning, I never expected the sheer severity of the avalanche which left my rear end - It can only be described as horrific. Anyway, as a result of this, I used copious amounts of loo roll, and blocked the bog almost immediately. This sent me into a blind panic since I had pains in my guts and was on the point of passing out, with an irresistible force threatening to explode all over the bathroom. I suddenly remembered the Monument MONMP1600 MP1600 Toilet Plunger, and opened the cupboard where this unexpectedly large bog-unblocker was stored. To my utter relief, this marvellous invention got rid of the troublesome blockage INSTANTLY, allowing me to release the burning demon within me safely and cleanly (save for a few splashes which were easily removed with the bog-brush.) If you are thinking of buying this marvellous implement, then think no longer and purchase this lifesaver! Highly recommended, particularly for those of you who regularly suffer from the 'Wild-ees'

Needs strength behind it, but works well
My dad was a plumber and told me before I bought this that there were better ways to unclog a toilet, but since then he's borrowed it multiple times and has been surprised how useful it's been as a good thing to first try before other plunging techniques. We've found it great when we've needed it. We've had it a few years and keep it outside on out roof - in direct sun most of the day - and it's still as robust as before. We'd absolutely buy another if it needed replacing though as when it's been needed it's been great. My only complaints are mostly the nature of a plunger rather than this one in particular. They are: - It can be very splashy when used (be prepared to put your clothes in the laundry). - It needs quite a lot of force and energy behind it to work. My partner is stronger than me and can get it working MUCH quicker than I can. I suspect people without much strength or who struggle with exertion might find it tricky to get it working. - It is tricky to clean out: it is entirely hollow and sucks everything up inside before expelling, yet the internal ridges hold onto the water and debris so once you're done you need to move it around to check everything has drained out of it and then be careful when swilling out with clean water as the bendiness of it makes it tricky and liable to tip the water out. Unblocking a toilet is always going to be messy though, so overall this is great and much much easier than without it.

Brilliant, worked a treat
This is brilliant, it works - quickly - when various other Google tips didn’t work at all. Highly recommended if you have a blocked toilet that won’t shift.

toilet plunger not very successful
Having tried this on numerous occassions we still have a blockage. I can't tell if the plunger is really working as it seems to release the blockage temporarily but now we are back to square one, in spite of not using the toilet for anything other than liquids and no paper! I will keep trying and hope that eventually whatever is causing the blockage will disintegrate.

Works, after a fashion
Firstly this item is much bigger than it looks in pics (almost comically large). But it's very easy to operate. Followed another reviewer's instructions, you place the item into the bowl, flush or add water and pump away. Initially this seemed to have no effect. Having tried other methods beforehand including boiling water on crystal soda and caustic soda, this was very disappointing. However 12 hours or so (overnight) later, the loo flushed perfectly, so it must have dislodged the rogue, ahem, waste. Obviously this probably won't work on hard items that have fallen in, though these shouldn't flush to begin with, lots of toilet paper or sanpro but if it's just waste and after a treatment wit hot water/washing up liquid to begin with which should soften things up a bit, it should work. As mentioned by another reviewer a seal is not necessary. This is effectively a manual water pressure jet - much easier than trying to rig up a Karcher, and much safer on your pipework. Only snag now is where to store the thing. It really is quite large....
