My umbrealla has rust on the hinges and its very bad looking on the fabric. Can you advise how to get rid of the rusts that wont harm the umbrealla?

Tomato ketchup, leave it on for a bit (protect the fabric) and it should get rid of it. Then just use a thin coat of clear nail varnish on the rusted areas to stave of its return.
