Sonoff WiFi Switch Wireless Remote Control Smart Switch Module ABC Shell Socket for DIY Smart Home

I was pleasantly surprised to find that all of these switches worked perfectly. After having ordered a couple from Banggood I expected some fallout, but that is not the case. In fact, the wifi communication is very strong and reliable. These are the newer version of the switch and seem to be much improved. They proved to be so reliable that I got rid of all the mechanical timers for our Christmas lights and put them all on these.The app (ewelink) was also a pleasant surprise. It not only allowed schedules for each outlet, but also groupings (scenes) and triggers to activate actions. I only needed to set up one timer, then set the others to operate off of that switch when it turned on or off. This saved a lot of hassle. Internally they use the ESP8266 parts for wifi and control of a relay and LEDs. They can be hacked, and I was considering doing that but I didn't need to due to the functionality of the app.It's also been simple to associate them with both Alexa and Google Home and voice commands work very well in turning the lights on and off. Neither Google nor Alexa have the capability to understand setting recurring timers yet by voice, but I'm sure that'll come.I bought 4ft extension cords for $2 each and connected the switches inline. This was simple and surprisingly robust.

I truly was looking forward to using these but no matter what I tried . I couldn't get any of them to pair. including different cell phones. 3 out of 3 that I got did not work. I also checked you-tube and seems that is a common problem. so basically if you can get one to work for you then it's worth it otherwise it's just a junk bin. maybe it only works with older routers. I have no clue and I work in IT for the last few decades. All the ones that i got have this misaligned/broken? trace. not sure if that's the issue or not. Also don't forget to read the fine print that these are 2.4Ghz devices and will not work with 5Ghz.

Pros: Paired up quickly and works perfectly. Set up an Alexa skill and now can turn this light on with verbal command. Added to "Kitchen Lights" group and now it turns on when I say "Alexa, turn on kitchen lights."Cons: Poor documentation/instructions. Screws to put on the covers are very tiny and you can't get them very tight before they strip. Terminals are fairly small, getting wire for full 15 amps might be a challenge.

I believe this product is very useful, especially for those who might have obsession (whether they turned of the power or not )Easy to install and useI have been using it for more than 1 month by now and I believe it is reliableOnly once I had trouble with it and it stuck so I had to reset it manullay..in this case I am not sure if we can depend on it for the (hard to reach places like something around the ceiling)Generally...recommended

Would be 5 stars but I had trouble with Creating an EWeLink with my Android phone. After a few days I finally able to create an account with my wife's Android phone? They were easy to pair and it was easy to update the firmware.I had an idea to use this item to control my 1.5hp 240VAC water sprinkler pump so I can shut it off and move the waterlines in my fields. I works great! (Please don't try this if you don't understand wiring and/or ac electricity) I wired the N (neutral, White) and the L (hot) to the device's input and outputs. I wired the other L (hot) together. I will be buying more of these!

I had high hopes for this product after seeing a Youtube video from a user but found that the product is not very well suited for using number 14 wire from a standard dollar store extension cord. The screw terminals on this product are more suited to low voltage wiring which was not what I purchased this product for. This product may work for you but in my opinion it is not adequate for use with larger wiring.

I've only set up one so far and it was an easy experience with one exception: The wire was stranded and wouldn't push into the screw down clamp space, there's a little spring device in there to help hold the wire. I had to tin the wires to make them work. I'll try to use these with solid wire only in the future.It was easy to create the account and the software works well enough. I was able to connect this system into the Samsung Smart things 2 hub and then my Amazon Echo's could control them as well.

This product is great to have at home. I love it so much. very easy to setup it works great with Amazon Alexa. I highly recommend this product to anyone who looking to make your home smart. this product lets you turn on and off lights when you are away from home my kids always turning on the lights. so now I have Control over everything. my TV DVD and many more. Just connected this product to Extension cord and connect the device that you want to control to the Extension cord and enjoy it
