I've had mine for about 2 months, and it's the best phone holder I've ever had for my car. I've bought super cheap vent ones that fell out every week or so. I've bought expensive ones that are supposed to suction onto your dash (and eventually just don't work), and I've bought the no-slip kind that get oddly sticky in heat. This one is SUPER easy to install in your vent. Totally sturdy, and you can rotate your phone all around. Easy to put your phone in, take out, and plug in. Best phone stand yet! I just bought another for my husband. Oh - also I haven't used it too much with the heat or AC on (but that was a problem with the cheap vent ones - they are right up against the vent and would over-heat.) This one seems far enough away from the vent that it won't be a problem - but I'll let you know!!

This is a nifty item. Especially for the price. If you want a cell phone holder and can afford a little less air from one vent then this is totally for you! It held stability wise, without squeaking or dropping the phone. I loved that I could charge my phone while it was on this and that my case made no difference. It worked with droid and iPhone no others were available for testing. I did remove 1 star because it lines up directly with power button and volume button on the iPhone 15 pro. Tho I woukd mount the phone a tad loosely and it still never dropped my phone. One touch button release, two finger and hover hold to settle in, honestly it’s the fastest phone holder I’ve used. So it really deserves all 5 stars but trying to remain objective here. I was skeptical about this mount because frankly it looked cheap and I’ve had a lot of flimsy items I order break within a week. Everyone’s experience is different, but here’s my two cents: CONVENIENT SET-UP/ USE At the time I ordered this I was an Uber driver, so it was super important for me to be able to use my phone quickly take it in and out of the mount and also have high visibility. I had seen cupholder mounts, dashboard, sticky mounts, windshield suction, cup mounts, but from what I could tell the easiest, most reliable, and, least damaging to the car is the AC mount. That proved to be extremely true in using this mount, the set up took me less than two minutes and almost a year later I have never had a single issue. (The only thing to consider that might break it is either over-tightening when you’re setting it up initially or if you don’t use the back button to unlock the sides of the phone or tighten the fastener too much for the most part it’s not an issue as long as you’re even remotely careful) VALUE Like I said, I’ve gotten a lot of crap that breaks within a week, this is lasted me almost a year. Even though the plastic feels like it could break pretty easily, I’ve never had a problem. There were other mounts that were way more expensive and because naturally, anyone would think that more expensive entire quality, I originally looked at those, but after buying a few, with the intent to figure out, which is the best, this actually stacked at the top because it’s the most practical being non-electrical, easy, and cheap. MY ONLY POINT FOR IMPROVEMENT If you live somewhere hot, and you’ll have your AC blowing constantly, this might not be the amount for you. For a short period of time I was living in Texas, and when I was constantly using the AC to beat the heat, anytime I was on the phone with someone all they could hear is a blasting. All things considered, not a huge con to have) All in all, I would 10 out of 10 recommend to purchase. Came back here to buy one for my girlfriend and decided I had to leave a review.

Only occasionally will something work as intended. I have a 1986 Buick Electra Park Avenue that, when it was manufactured, the designers at General Motors never dreamed of things like cupholders or cell phone holders. So, these now considered basic items of convenience have to be somehow added to the interior of the vehicle. The cupholders were easy but the cell phone holder was a much greater challenge. I tried the suction cup. It could hold 5,000 lbs of weight for about a minute and then about 5 minutes later it comes right off. I tried gluing a homemade holder on but it wouldn't stick and it also messed up the dashboard. Finally, I decided to try this unit and it works perfectly. The secret is in the hook which connects to the vent outlet. That appears to be a very sturdy part of the dashboard and this when connected to it, seems to hold the weight of the phone easily. I am very pleased with this unit and would recommend it to anyone who might have run out of other ideas as to how to mount their phones so they are not bouncing around everywhere in the vehicle.

It really depends on personal preference whether this car vent mount holder will suit you. I will tell you why it did not work for me: 1. Blocking the air conditioning in the summer. Since this phone holder latches onto the car vents, this means a large portion of the air conditioning will be blocked off. This bothered me greatly. I tried installing the vent mount holder at different angles: top right, bottom left, middle right, on the passenger vent side, etc. No matter where I located this phone holder, I experienced a loss of air conditioning flow by a minimum of 30 to 40%. This meant that I felt a lot hotter in the car than I otherwise would have. In the summertime, I prefer to drive in a cool vehicle powered by air conditioning. With this phone mount, I just did not feel as cool as I would have liked. This made me more irritable in my car rides - especially during 100 degree weather. I have not tried this phone mount in the winter time, but I imagine the experience would be similarly detrimental. I do not think it is ideal to have heat blasting behind your phone - that would not be good for the internal components of the phone. 2. I did not like the location of the phone holder mount near the vents. Again this is another situation that will depend on personal preference. Where do you like to have your phone mounted inside your vehicle? Do you prefer it higher up so that it meets your eye level, do you prefer to have it lower so that your view of traffic is unobstructed? My sweet spot is slightly at / slightly below eye level. On my vehicle, I prefer to have the car phone mount slightly above my vents so that I never have to LOOK DOWN when I am driving. I think that puts yourself into a dangerous situation whenever you veer your eyes off the road. There are suction mounts / gooseneck mounts that suction onto the windshield and adds another mount so that you can adjust the preferred location of your phone mount holder. I believe there is a sweet spot on most vehicles where you can place the phone holder just slightly above the vents. This way, you don't have to look down to see your phone GPS and your view is not obstructed. These are the two main reasons why I decided to pass on the vent mount in general. I do not like having my AC blocked, and I do not think it is safe to have a phone mount located below eyesight level especially when you are in a new area, relying on your phone for GPS navigation. The vent mount itself works perfectly well for all kinds of phones except perhaps a super wide foldable samsung phone. I would pass on vent mounts in general if you share my two concerns: AC functionality and safety while driving.

I have bought many car phone mounts over the years and none compare to the quality, durability, ease of install, ease of use, and price. After buying one for my car, I bought one for my wife’s car because it was so cheap and high quality. It’s easy to mount and it stays in place without ever falling like some mounts I’ve had. Phones fit great and it’s so easy to lock it in and take it out. I thought it would be flimsy for the price, but I was wrong. This is better than the $50 mounts.
