Waterproof, a little condensation.
Great product. Used under leaky tarp in heavy rain. Kept my bag dry from sideways rain, leaks in tarp and ground water. However, condensation did still accumulate, so my sleeping bag was slightly damp by morning, but only a little, so didn't effect my warmth. (Something to consider on a multi day trip). The hood section also likes to flap down over you, even when you fold it open, just annoying, not a major issue. Very good overall, very pleased. Will continue to use.

Robust Bivvy Bag
Best Bivvy bag I’ve ever used. Been in the field many times whereby the pussers issue gortex bivvy bag either rips down the seam, tears, is too small or doesn’t even fit over your head. This has an enclosed head piece, a string zip that can be pushed open if you have to get out quick, buttons along the side for extra defence if windy and a thick proper gortex lined base. It’s a cracking bit of kit in all honesty - and cheap for how durable this is.

Bombproof, Waterproof, Great Erganomics, Heavy, Bulky, Bad Breathabily.
I have now owned this for about twelve months and I have got to use it many times on bushcraft camp outs. I have used it in all weathers, so I will start with the good points. This bivy bag is a copy of a USGI MSS bivy, in my opinion this has to be one of the most ergonomically designed bivys ever. The side zip I think is a must for bivys bags, it just makes so much sense to have one so you're not wriggling your way in and out and you can swing it open to thermo regulate in warmer weather. There is a stud fastened flap that will cover to the zipper too if its raining. The size of the bivy is nice and large, I am 5'11" and 85kg, there is plenty of room for me, an inflatable mattress (Decathlon Forclaz Trekk 700 Air L Dimensions 180x52x5.5 cm) and a 5 season sleeping bag (Snugpak Softie 15). I have noticed that a wider sleeping matt I had did pull the top fabric tight over me which will create cold spots and is something to consider. Being able to put the inflatable sleeping mat inside the bivy is a must for me, it doubles as an extra layer of protection and it stops you rolling or sliding off in the night. The clam shell type lid openening means that in the event of rain you can close it over your head and still leave a hole to breath out of without water ingress, It is by no means perfect but it seems a better design than some of the hooped bivy's that require you to full zip them up. I have slept in showers in this and it has been fully water proof, the base is a of a PU coated bathtub construction, so its also fully water proof on wet ground and even more durable. The clamshell lid does have a habit of falling over your face when you don't want it to, to sovle this issue I have glued a patch of velcro on the front that marrys to the existing velcro on the inside, this way I can roll it back and velcro will keep it in place. I have not slept in long periods of heavy rain without a tarp, I don't doubt it wouldn't be waterproof, but doing so would be a bit dumb anyway, always check the weather forecast and take a tarp if rain is to be expected. Now for the bad points, and there is a few which stop this bivy being perfect. Firstly the breathability is really lacking compared to some other bivys available, but judging from other reviews, its still quite comparable to other bivy bags. I actually usually sleep with the bivy bag fully unzipped, the zipper is a 3/4 length so your legs stay covered. I will close it when it rains or when the temp drops in the early hours of the morning, I have found in dry weather if I close it all night the condensation will build up and cool you down after a few hours. Secondly the weight and bulk, the claimed weight figure is not correct, it is approximately 1300g's not the commonly quoted 980g's I have seen on other websites. It is also very bulky, it must be the size of a common two man tent when packed in the supplied stuff sack. I personally purchased a large US Army MSS compression sack, that way I just leave my sleeping bag inside it and stuff it in, this also adds waterproof protection for your sleeping bag while its in your rucksack. I think just rolling it up and fastening it to the outside of your pack is also a good option if space is limited. So to conclude, I think the bivy is probably best suited to harsh weather and wet environments, on dry summer and spring nights with no chance of rain it is probably a little over kill. For the price I don't think there is a better bivy out there. The only comparable bivy would be a British army surplus one which has it owns good and bad points. If you like the design and can spend a little extra I would look around for a genuine US Army item, these are fully goretex which should solve the breath ability issue and the quoted weight seems to be a bit lighter about 1kg. I have seen them on a European surplus site but they are not in stock, I think I will be purchasing one when they are. Thanks for reading, I hope this helps!

Amazing product, speedy delivery
Amazing! Windproof, totally waterproof and a very thermal layer for all weathers! Large enough for a roll mat inside aswell as thick sleeping bag plus me (5'6" and big built, wide shoulders) Can even fit your boots and a satchel sized bag in the bottom of it while your inside allowing you and your gear to stay bone dry.

Not breathable
Not breathable. Unlike the genuine article that this is a copy of, this bivvy has a pvc lined base which has zero breathability. The upper is a "goretex-like" material but us nowhere near as breathable as proper goretex. Cheaper than the genuine USGI MSS Bivvy... but Cheaper for a reason. It's pretty waterproof, so Ok for an emergency, but if you can get ahold of the genuine article, avoid this knock-off.

Kept me dry.
Great bit of gear! Keeps you dry when it’s wet and protects you from wind. But I would suggest, if you think it’s going to be a hot and dry night - I wouldn’t recommend sleeping with it done up, as condensation gets trapped. Which you cannot stop from happening whether it’s a £500 bivvy bag or a £50 bag.

Does not come with a sleeping bag
Spacious. If you don’t put an actual sleeping bag inside it it becomes a dripping wet box. Don’t be me…. Put a sleeping bag in itlol

Excellent product , don’t even hesitate you will be happy with it.
This is military grade with a quick release zipper and good quality, high end material that is durable and reasonably light weight. Excellent product in every respect and in all honesty after the first use this replaced my other bivy sacks instantly.
