ROCCAT Alumic Double-Sided Gaming Mousepad

I wasn't really out for a mouse pad, when i bought this one. I saw it on the lightning deals, and thought "Hey, I can just try it and if I don't like it, just return it". As you can see, i didn't get to the point where I returned it :). The core of the mouse pad, is made out of aluminium, which has a very premium feel, with this pad. At the edges there is a piece of rubber, to get a nice grip to the surface!. At first, it was really hard/weird to get used to this one, when you have used cloth surface before. A couple of days and I was settled with this pad. The mouse is gliding VERY smooth without much force, which i need on a cloth surface. You have 2 sides on this pad. 1st the black and 'rougher' surface is for people with high sens gamers, the 2nd blue/black smooth surface is for people with low sens gamers which needs a very smooth gliding. Pick the side you want to play with, and you feel the difference.

İ got this after using Razer Vespula over 6 years . i can easly say this one way better than Vespula . Sturdy construction by using aluminum , both sides works perfectly , wrist rest good add-on and its not moving around like others says . its premium feel and looks like cant be easly damaged by normal use .recommended

The mousepad is solid and I'm a fairly rough user, it also works pretty well with my Razer Deathadder. The only downside, for me at least, is the gel wrist rest is easily moved.

Typical Roccat quality, looks great on the desk, smooth movement with xtd, gel pad was the main reals on i purchased, and it works a treat. Nice kit and very underrated !

So, i like the alumic, i'll tell you why: pros: - solid surfaces, solid sit - nice and large - nice design, great colours - works very well with R.A.T. 9, Razer Mamber and Roccat Kone[+] cons: - loose gel pad - sides feel too similar - price a bit high overall a good mat though, can recommend.

I am quite a fan of roccat items simply because I like blue, but I've been using razer vespula before purchasing this product. (I reviewed it as well - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/customer-reviews/R1JYPHD6NSRL6T/ref=cm_cr_pr_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B0036EYW38) After using razer vespula about 1.5 years, one of rubber pad broke off and it start I've been looking for new but similar mousepad, and I was hooked on this one because it had some nice looking, BLUE logo on it. When I unboxed it, one thing kind of caught me surprised. Gel pad which I thought was attached to the mat, was actually not attached. In the end it wasn't much like razer vespula after all, although it looked similar. I have to admit, despite my initial disappointment, mouse mat itself's performance was better than my old mouse mat, holding in place much better. Gel pad however-was not that comfortable, and constantly moving like headless chicken wherever my arm was moving. After trying to control the situation in several ways I had to make decision to not use Gel pad at all. one thing to notice - unlike cloth mouse pads these hard mouse mats tend to wear out bottom of your mouse If you're using flat mouse with no kind of protective pad sticking out of bottom surface, (most of mouses do have protective pads, but there are always some exceptions or pads cannot be replaced) don't buy this kind of mouse mat. It will damage your mouse eventually. For my mouse, this mouse pad is doing very good job in my gaming and other experience with my pc. The additional gel pad is a disaster, unless your desk is very rough that gel pad won't even budge, it's probably better off not using the gel pad. Price-wise, They seem a little overpriced in my opinion. Due to price and horrible gel pad, I simply cannot give 4 or 5 stars.

This a great mousepad for gaming its thin yet has a hard Aluminium centre. So it doesn't bend at all. The surface choices really are chosen by the game you intend to play.

This pad is beyond. By far the best mouse pad (and I've used many including the razer vespula). Easy to clean, no wear and tear after years of use. Very solid construction. I literally can't even thing of a way this pad could be better.

Un très bon tapis, j'avais un func industries 1030 d'une dizaine d'années et la glisse commençait a être moins confortable, je voulais un tapis de qualité pour le remplacer, et c'est le cas, j'utilise exclusivement la partie granulée et pour la précision c'est juste la classe :). le tapis est ultra rigide, et les 4 "socles" antidérapants sont très efficaces, tapis qui peut paraitre cher mais pour les gamers exigeants c'est le must :)

This mouse pad comes with almost everything I could hope for in a mouse pad. It's huge, has good rubber grips, two sided. very solid and has a wrist rest. The only thing that would make it better is if it could charge my mice too.

Dieses Pad hat mit dem Razer Destructor zusammen das beste Gleitverhalten, was ich bisher bei allen getesteten Pads gefunden habe und das waren schon einige. Gleitreibung und Haftreibung sind sehr sehr gering, so soll es sein, kein slipstick-effekt, perfekt! Ich habe es mittlerweile seit einigen Wochen und bisher haben sich keine Abnutzungserscheinungen eingestellt. Ich bin da ziemlich emfpindlich in Sachen Haftreibung, normal kann ich Hartplastikpads nach wenigen Wochen in die Tonne schmeißen, weil vor allem die Haftreibung durch Verschleiß zunimmt -> slipstick-effekt -> Cursorsprünge Ich nutze ausschließlich die schwarze Seite, die blaue hat mehr Reibung und der Sensor meiner Maus hat auf der blauen Seite gelegentlich Probleme beim Logo. Die Ecken stören mich wider Erwarten überhaupt garnicht. Trotz der relativ großen Gesamthöhe des Pads ist es angenehm damit zu arbeiten. Allerdings gibts einen Schwachpunkt dieses Pads, der Kern ist Aluminium, um ihm Stabilität zu gewähren, daher ist es schnell ziemlich kalt. Gerade an den Kanten ist keine Kundstoffbeschichtung, so liegt die Haut ggf. auf der blanken Alukante auf. Für empfindliche Zeitgenossen kann das nach einer Zeit schmerzhaft werden. Im Sommer kein Problem, aber im Winter. Achja, meine Maus ist eine FK1 von der Firma Zowie. ------------------------------------------------------ Update 01.10.2014 Habe das Pad ja jetzt schon ne ganze Weile im Gebrauch und zu meinem Erstaunen sind noch überhaupt garkeine Gebrauchsspuren oder Abnutzungserscheinungen vorhanden. Das habe ich bei einem Plastikpad mit einem derartig gutem Gleitverhalten durch gekörten Oberfläche noch nie erlebt. Normal sind die in wenigen Wochen hochglanzpoliert und reif fürn Mülleimer. Allerdings habe ich einen großen Negativpunkt entdeckt. Meine Maus hat auf den weißen Linien des Logos gelegentlich Trackingprobleme (Zowie FK1, Sensor ist der Avago ADNS 3310). Das ist mir am Anfang nicht so wirklich aufgefallen. Ist für mich ein dicker Minuspunkt aber ich kann es dem Pad nicht ankreiden. Es liegt einfach daran, dass der Sensor damit nicht klar kommt, da kann ja das Pad nichts dafür, denn einige Sensoren haben darauf keine Probleme. Auf der schwarzen Fläche ohne Logo funktioniert die Maus aber nach wie vor super. Falls es ein Pad gibt, dessen Oberfläche wie die des Alumic ist, es keinen Metallkern hat ( nicht kalt) und keine Logos, dann lassen Sie es mich bitte wissen.
