Brilliant device. Packaging was excellent, good clear instruction how to season the cast iron. First use it worked a charm, just a fun accessory to any outdoor cooking. As mentioned it is heavy, it's not for back packing. Solidly built and does the job perfectly. Be warned on first inspection it looks a little weird, the surface is coated in a protective wax to prevent rusting until you season it. Boiling water took care of this, then it was on to seasoning. Probably the best thing I have bought in ages.

Great Product.

The product arrived within the time specified and as it was a gift, it arrived in a box. It looks very robust and will be suitable for use on and Aga.

No separator in the middle so the filling just oozes out between 2 slices of bread. A double pie iron should have cavities that crimp a pie all round the edges of 2 regular slices of bread x 2

We loved taking this camping with us. We used it for every meal. If you’re used to cooking with cast iron it should t be too difficult for you to use. Most important thing is to season it well! We cooked cinnamon bread and apple pie using crescent roll dough. We made pizza/calzone with pizza dough. We also cooked sausages and eggs and veggies. All turned out great. Cook time took a bit of practice since you can’t see it. Using oil or butter was very important to keep for sticking. It comes coated in paraffin wax which was hard to scrub off, so we ended up putting on the grill to melt it off and scrubbed after that.

Best Pie Iron I have ever used - very heavy, and holds heat well. I find it very easy to control the cooking temperatures with it. The size is perfect, you can cook all kinds of things in it. We have baked bread, made pizza, cooked burritos, cinnamon buns, cookies, and pancakes. If you are in the market for a Pie Iron - look no further! This is the only one you need!

I haven’t found a sandwich/pie maker like this in Australia. It fits bread well for a toastie. There are some great videos online for cooking tips, including cooking a family size frozen pizza!! Try and do that with a standard sandwich maker. Great fast service from Amazon
