Can't even smell orange
Maybe there is orange in this powder, but it smells like a chemical factory. Ugh.

Convenient
As expected, adds flavor to cakes and works well in making ones own salt free seasoning

Very finely powdered
This is very finely powdered and makes for very good orange roll icing. I still use orange juice but I use it in place of orange zest. It works great for that, and it's also been wonderful in a shrimp marinade. It comes in a resealable pouch, but I put mine in a airtight jar. This is very finely ground so it will not show up like zest, so it isn't as pretty as zest. It works great for the getting that same flavor though.

Ultra dry, mix with liquid to use
I tasted a bit on a spoon - not a good idea! The powder is super dry (of course) and has astringent and desiccating properties. I sprinkled it on vanilla ice cream, and after mooshing it in, it gave the ice cream a mild orange flavor that I like. The product is the whole orange peel, pith and zest, so there is a little bitterness as should be expected when pith is present. I have had orange powder in the past, and this Spices Village powder is much fresher tasting and mixes well into liquids. Tonight, I added a heaping teaspoon of the orange powder to my regular vinaigrette (EVOO, wine vinegar, salt, pepper, garlic powder) along with a few tablespoons of water. The dressing emulsified as I whisked it, and stayed in solution until we used it to dress some cooked (and chilled) beets. Made a delicious cold side salad with just a hint of orange. When it is baking season again, I will add the orange powder to my banana bread.
