What is the difference between 3.0 & 3.0+ strengths? are d'addario reserves the same as rico reserves?

3.0+ is essentially like a 3.25. At least for me it gives me closer to the sound of a 3.5 without the resistance and stuffiness. I used to struggle between 3 and 3.5 where one was too soft usually, and one was too hard. As always there is variation in the actual strength of the reeds, so some might play more like a 3.0 and others 3.5.D'Addario bought Rico, there is still Rico orange box, and Rico Royal, but the professional line is changing to D'Addario for woodwind reeds and mouthpieces. The reeds themselves are the "same" but not exactly they have been changed slightly but I would say generally for the better. I played them before, I still play them now.
