Civil PE CBT Practice Exam and Guide: Full CBT Breadth Exam, Detailed Solutions, Exam-Day Info, and Study Schedule

This book has problems of a similar difficulty to that of the actual Breadth exam. I used this first as a timed exam, and then reworked the problems with no time limit to better understand the concepts being used in each problem.When it comes to the solutions, I really appreciate that the author didn't just give us a numerical solution. The solution for each problem involves definitions of key words as well as a plan on how to tackle it. Even within the numerical solution there are statements prior to the computation explaining why to do it this way. My favorite part of the solution portion is that it references the NCEES handbook, which is great since that is really the only reference we have now for the breadth now that the PE exam has gone CBT.The icing on the cake to my whole experience, is that I was able to email the author and she responded quickly to better explain a question I had on one of the problems. This alone makes my purchase invaluable because the author just didn't publish a book to sell, but took time out of her busy day to help me learn something I was stuck on. This really shows the type of quality you are getting when purchasing this book compared to others.I highly recommend this practice exam and study guide to others taking the PE. This has been not only an invaluable tool in my PE journey, but an invaluable experience knowing that others who have been in my position are willing to help other future PEs in their journeys as well.

This is a great book for on the surface concepts as they are easily explained in the solutions and they reference the PE Reference Handbook. (Note: PE Reference page numbers might be outdated, since PE reference handbook is always updated once or twice a year.) This shouldn't be much of a problem, I still found the reference handbook equations regardless of the outdated page number.

I bought this book and the other one that is yellow thinking they would be two different things. Turns out it is almost exactly the same except the solutions reference CBT in this one and reference something else in the other. I thought the solutions were way too confusing/ overly complicated to follow compared to other books I've had. Any practice is good practice so I still found it useful. Just was not a fan of the way the solutions are, and was kinda bummed I bought the same book twice (essentially).BUT I will say a lot of the other books I've had do not reference where in the CBT they got the formula so that's a PLUS.

Not too tricky. Similar to NCEES PE exam level. Explanations are clear and helpful with detailed page # of Handbook. I scored 32/40 and learned new things. Highly recommended.

BUY THIS BOOKLET!I'm someone who likes to visualize everything so I really appreciated the exam day table. The questions are detailed and explanations are very helpful! Each solution has a definition and a "game plan" which is very insightful and has really been helping me grasp the material.

This was a great study tool. I liked how there was plenty of space in the actual book to do the exercises. Beyond that, it was well organized and flowed well. Would definitely recommend this practice guide.

I used this practice test to supplement a prep course. It was so nice to have the extra questions and the solutions were simple to follow. It would also be a great resource if you are thinking about starting to study for the exam and want to get a feel for where you are at with exam like questions.
