Great model to build.
This was my first Wood Trick model having previously built many by Ugears. The quality, thickness and stencilling of the wooden boards is better and this is reflected in the look and sturdiness of the finished model. Using actual springs in the suspension, the door closing mechanism for starting the models forward motion and the way the rubber bands are an integral part of the rear tyres are all great details that I haven't seen before. The smoothness of motion and distance it travels are good too. Down sides for this type of model are: no backwards motion, no moving engine parts such as pistons and no details such as even a latch for the bonnet, which all let it down as a STEM type engineering model. Also, the way the cab connects to the trailer section could do with a couple more connection points. But I would recommend overall and hence the 5 stars,

Lots of details
My wife has the patience and she likes building models so she took care of that. The truck came in 9 big and one small flat packed planks of laser pre-cut pieces, an instruction book, bag with elastic bands, springs, small chunk of hard paraffin to coat moving parts with. The engine winding spring was squeezed by strong strap and after cutting it, the spring flew up in the air, wife expected that but still got scared lol. I helped her from begin to find the number of parts and remove them from the plank but when I broke one piece, I left it. Wife used wood glue to fix the part. She followed carefully the instruction and with more precision and smaller fingers she built this truck model better than I would do. And I don't have patience for that. When building, some pieces were difficult to fit in, due to being small or the place was to small or hard to reach. So she used tweezers, small hammer, pliers. The passenger side doors were problematic as the shape of one of the side wasn't cut enough to fit wooden part through so wife cut it off, otherwise the door will look like image 6. Also have a look on photo 7and 8, that's also about that part. The mechanism didn't work as expected, something probably broke inside and the car doesn't ride. The back wheels can move sometimes. The front wheels doesn't move at all. Suspension works well, springs are bouncy. All other movable parts do move. Wife didn't like the smell of the smoked (?) wood ans also building it is very messy job, with plenty of wooden bits and dust. Wife built it all within two afternoons, which actually takes like 11-12h in total so just as described and expected. I decided to give 4 stars because of the pieces which can easily break, pieces which is hard to connect together, the engine mechanism somehow doesn't work and front wheels doesn't move. Other than that, it's lovely, exciting project to complete for people with lots of patience and strong (pain-resistant) finger tips.

exceptional
This was my 22nd wooden model and the most enjoyable build to date. 706 parts but all fitted perfectly and managed to complete without breaking a part which I have to do with most other models. A spring motor, no cutting elastic bands and use of cocktail sticks is minimal compare to other models. I have built models by Ugears, Rokr and woodtrick so I have bit of experience and would recommend this particular model to all. WARNING โ ๏ธ Be carefully when cutting the tie holding the spring together. It unwinds with some kick.

Truly exceptional
I do love these wooden kits, they absorb a lot of time to make and if you take things step by step and are very painstaking, you get really impressive results. I think the mistake the manufacturers make, too be honest, is the suggestion that they are a lot simpler to make than they actually are, which inevitably would lead to disappointment: They are quite challenging. However, persevere with this one and it's really rewarding. a 14 inch long model with loads of details and working parts that's actually powered: As it takes so long to make, it's pretty good value in terms of play value to.
