Diatomaceous earth (or diatomite) is a soft rock composed of fossilised skeletons of algae called diatoms. It is extracted from natural quarries, and mechanically refined without chemical transformation, and non-calcinated. The granularity and the hardness of the particles cause damage to insect carapaces. Insect pests can die within 48h of coming into contact with diatomaceous earth. It is effective on red lice, ants, cockroaches, bedbugs, ticks, fleas, mites, earwigs, etc. Diatomaceous earth is rich in silicon dioxide (65%) as well as in trace elements: boron, manganese, titanium, copper, zirconium, sodium, magnesium and calcium etc. which help to fortify poultry metabolism and eggshells. Used in organic farming it proves to be an excellent treatment for internal parasites, completely safe and non-toxic, against intestinal parasites such as roundworms like nematodes and flatworms like Cestodes. Eggs can continue to be eaten during treatment. To accompany this product, we recommend our diatomaceous earth shaker to sprinkle the powder without waste, and/or our diatomaceous earth sprayer for vertical surfaces or hard-to-reach areas. How to use: - As a thin layer on the henhouse floor, beneath the straw - To sprinkle over poultry - Mix 5g of diatomaceous earth with every 100g of normal food for 2 months - Make barriers at strategic locations Precautions for use: non-calcinated diatomaceous earth poses no risk. However, due to its strong absorbent properties it is recommended to avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, and airways, which can become irritated due to drying. When treating large surfaces one can wear a mask and goggles. Instructions : www.Terre-Diatomee.Club
